Madden NFL 10 Feedback Event Wrap-Up

Posted On: Apr. 10, 2009 9:23 PM EST By: raczilla 140 Comments

It's the early hours of Saturday morning and our community feedback event is still underway.  The Madden NFL 10 dev team has had some great interaction with our attendees, who are still playing the game and jotting down notes on areas they feel can be tuned prior to its release.

Thanks for following our coverage today on the Inside Blog and EA SPORTS Live.  Before we wrap up,  take a look at a video featuring thoughts from our event attendees and Madden NFL 10 lead designer Ian Cummings.

Interacting with the customer might be new to the Madden team, but it's not new or groundbreaking from a software development perspective.  That's how most software is developed in the business world.  In an established company, you rarely have the luxury of building a product in a vacuum like so many gaming companies seem to do year in and year out.

Well you know how yall put on NBA Live online team up mode how about puttin it on Madden 10

I hope this feedback helps bring back Madden to the status of Madden NFL 2004 and 2005, if not greater.  It is good to see that there are two months to complete the game for August and having those two months from the feedback that you are getting back today.  Hopefully the game of 5 years ago of 2K5 will finally be 2nd to a hopefully superior Madden NFL 10.

The early "day" is a big positive.   A follow-up on "any" implementation of that feedback would be appreciated, if possible.

One thing I'd like to see in Madden is a more realized presentation system. The NFL is as much about week to week storylines as anything else. Take last year - whether it was the strife in the 'Boys locker room, Plax shooting himself, or Quan breaking his face than coming back, the NFL is full of action between games.

I'd like to see some kind of media features in Madden 10. EA has the ESPN license, and barely uses it. Let's get some kind of NFL Today or NFL Countdown in the game. The EA Sports Radio with Tony Bruno was a start, but that was last gen. Have some highlights, and have some off the field action. I think it would be great to have it play out similar to the old discipline system in NCAA. Players can get into trouble, both off the field, and in the locker room. This could be remedied by meeting with the players, suspension, or possibly even cutting the player.

To make an example, take Terrell Owens. TO is my favorite player, and week in, week out I listen to him get ridden by the media. In Madden TO is just a great WR, not really any different than Fitz, Randy Moss, or Reggie Wayne. There should be some way to have a player's "ego" and "media attention" factor in. This could go both ways - positives would be things like ticket and merch sales, a player like TO would show improvement when centered in the offense. Negatives would include interviews with ESPN, trade demands, skipping workouts, and possibly just bad play if not included in the offense.

could you guys fix this thing where in franchise mode there would be a fake QB  with huge arms ,it's very unrealistic .

have some signature celebrations like shawn merrian's , lendale white's ,and ray lewis.

    have more types of injuries.

let height, size, and strength  matter in every aspect.

in franchise what happened to the college all-star game and actually scouting draft selections that was very fun.

what i mean by actually scouting is that we do the drills with our rookies.

in the college all-star game have them with their team's helmet as well as the nfl player's.

please have more logos for create a team.

Great job.  It's great to see EA taking this kind of step to improve not only the game but the relationship between company and customer.  I no longer hear "EA doesn't care!"  Kudos go to the whole Madden Dev team and staff.

I'll be interested to see also what feedback was specifically given and how it impacted the development of the game.

There are two things that have bothered me more than anything in the past games, and that is the o-line suction blocks, and the unblocked defensive lineman that walk through the o-line untouched when the defense is only rushing with 3 or 4 people.

I've been a yard or two away from sacking the QB only to have a lineman 3 or 4 yards away suck me into a block, or shove, toss, or flip the blitzing lineman to the ground.  Those animations really need to be thrown out and made more realistic.  Getting flipped upside down 10 times in a game doesn't happen in real life to one player in a single game.  They should make it so the blockers either shove or attempt to grab hold of the player getting around just to slow them down instead of stop them completely.  It really is bothering to be within arm distance of the QB only to have an o-lineman use his voodoo black magic to stop you suddenly.

The d-lineman running through the holes uncontested is unrealistic too.  maybe if there are 6 or more players blitzing, with the occasional o-line miscue letting one by, but with running plays with three d-lineman and 2 linebackers easily being able to run through the line and stop the run for no or negative yards is unrealistic.  The o-line intelligence needs to be boosted.  They're the smartest players on the field and should know who needs to be blocked instead of running down field to block the safety that's backpeddling in zone coverage.

The slow down in gameplay should help to make those things possible and I would enjoy seeing that worked on for the upcoming game.

@ Valdarez - U missed the point of the groundbreaking statement. It's not new or groundbreaking that they use customer interaction in shaping a game, it's the fact that EA is doing it so early for Madden so that whatever issues can be addressed and desired additions can be made can actually get done as opposed to EA having cats playing Madden the week before final code which is probably around the first week of August for a mid Aug. release.

raczilla - I absolutely LOVE what is happening this year with Madden. You guys are REALLY stepping it up, this year. I started with the first Genesis Madden and to see go through all the ups and downs of the franchise, I am blown away with the level of open relations and added tech, this time around. Kudos, nothing but kudos...

This was definitely a good video.I liked that EA wasn't completely blocking the tv screens that showed the actual gameplay. It was definitely a good teaser as i tried to stop the video at the right moments to get a peek.Pathetic right?Anyway, I love what EA is doing and I hope to be in that room playing Madden, giving feedback next year.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 11, 2009

I have a "few" requests that should be considered and possibly implemented into the game:

"Features":  The Player Models. Visually, they were fantastic. Realistically, they were reminiscant of the "Blitz" days. QB's like David Garrard and Jeff Garcia looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I think the sizing should be adjusted, as most football players are rarely cut and bulky. Obviously, Qb's like the above-mentioned dont meet this exception, but QBs are never cut.

Running Motion. This looked HORRIBLE. Not to be rude, but it's the truth. I think Madden players lived with it this year, but it was very unrealistic. I believe this option could solve the problem:

Sizing Variation. Say you have 10 players, wieghing from 100 lbs. to 200 lbs. Have the 100 lb. player run looser(See Reggie Bush's running Motion), and the 200 lb. player run Straight up(Brandon Jacobs' like). When increasing ten pounds(100, 110,120, etc.) the tightness of their running motion should be increased. Also, loosen up the running style in open field.(Again, see Reggie Bush.)

Also, the running fluidity. To sum everthing up, a regular sized guy or scrambling QB ran like he had a stick up his ***, and the bigger guys ran like they had hemerrhoids. Everyone generally has the same running motion, with bigger players obviously being a little tighter, as mentioned in afore-mentioned paragraph.Heres a link(idk if it will work)

    ps3media.ign.com/.../madden-nfl-09-20080625104611663_640w.jpg

More jerseys. The Broncos are the example that comes to mind. They only had the Blue home Jersey and the White away jersey. I may be mistaken, but they wore the Orange Jerseys more. Also, as you may or may not know, every team had a Throwback jersey that they will wear this upcoming season. Please, insert these into the games. (It would also be cool if you could make it mandatory to wear one on thanksgiving.)

Cleat corrections. In Madden 09, I found it strange that the Colts wore BLACK cleats with their away uniform, while the Pats wore WHITE cleats with their Home uniforms. This needs to be fixed. Also, maybe you could insert colored team cleats.

Helmet/Facemask selection. Many have made posts, but idk if you all know the importance. LaDainian Tomlinson's facemask is a perfect example. I bet people would be happy(especially LT and Charger fans) to see him get his specialized facemask(Which would look cool in the game; by the way.).

Flak Jackets. This is in NCAA Football, it should be in Madden too. Especially for QBs.

The Under Armour. The short sleeve Under Armour that Tom Brady wears.

That was basically the section about the players, here is the Ratings section:

The Injury rating(and Injuries in particular.). I think the injury rating should be taken out, it makes the game much more unrealistic. Players rarely, if at all, get injured; When they do, it only ends up being a bruise, or the player gets the wind knocked out of him. Instead, use this solution:

Body Part Percentages. If a player has ankle problems, put it at a lower percentage. Say, for example, in the 09 season LaDainian Tomlinson hurts foot. This greatly affected his speed THAT year, as well as his agility, but not the rest of his body. He would only be injury prone in THAT foot, not the whole body. So, after injury, depending on severity, make it 60% or 70%. Show the affected stats(Speed, jumping, agility; for example, Devin Hester, who has 100 spd, with a 70% ankle would make his speed a 70). This would help to show us if we want to start a player that week or let him rest/rehab(More on rehab later).

A rating that could be added is:Jump ball. Think about this. Larry Fitzgerald against Rodney Harrison. Who would win the battle? Fitz, but in 09, a linebacker could win this battle. Another example is S Ed Reed against WR Wes Welker. This would allow you to take out the Spectacular Catch rating.

Ok, that was the rating part, now here is the Game Play part:

Pre-Game presentation. Show fans walking the stadium to get hot dogs, or on a Rivalry game, show crazed fans. The intensity could increase during playoff time, eventually leading to the epitome of football, the Big One, the Super Bowl.

The Terrible Towel. Think of every happy Steller fan you will have if they see those towels swirling in the air. (Consequently, make the Titans rivals with the Steelers, as a result of the Towel stomping by Lendale White. Give Titans their version of the Towel during Titans/Steelers games.)

Make players trip over legs. They shouldnt automatically jump over players. Make the timing of a jump a factor also.

Catch Animations. These were simply horrible. It seemed like it wasnt even a focus, no offense. Upgrade all animations. Just have a mocapped player catch like 200 balls(expression, should be around 100. LOL)

I dont have to comment about the sideline. I think you know how they were.

Interactive stadium fans. Bring these back.

Celebration Injuries, lol. See Bill Gramatica, 2001.

Realistic Hit sticks. Idealy, players truly get hit sticked on a blind side, or in a situation where they cant see. I'd say tone down the hits, make them more realistic. Perfect example is the hits towards the knees.

Late Hits, unnecessary roughness. Typically could be on the sidelines. Would be cool to debate if a Rey Maualuga type hit(on that UCLA QB) shouldve been called late or not.

Diving catches/One handed Catches. Bring these back. Those inaccurate, on-the-run passes that would be thought uncatchable could have the chance to be caught.

Thats Gameplay, heres Franchise. Ill go in order by Preseason, regular season, etc. I think the objective of a Franchise is to be able to have us BUILD our Dynasty. these would help a lot.

Before I say anything, do you think you could add Bill Belicheck's name?

    Ok, heres Preseason:

Large Rosters. 80 man rosters are in the game, why cant we have em? After a draft, there may be hidden gems in FA or on waivers that we could pick up and evaluate if we had the same roster deadlines were implemented into Franchise. Give us the deadlines to cut players like in the NFL.

Training Camp, OTAs, etc. This could be a stretch, but another way to evaluate talent. Also, injuries could be implemented.

Morale. Have Chad Ocho Cinco or T.O. not report to Training Camp. Make A. Boldin angry because he wants a new contract, thus causing him to not report. Have rookies Hold out. Have players holdout. Off the field incidents(I think this could go hand in hand with the Awarness rating. Possibly split into On field/Off field.)

Preseason PT. The playing time setup is not right. Period. My starting QB does not play 2 quarters in the NFL at any time in Preseason. Let us have Playing time sliders. Maybe consult a team to find the average PT for starters in Game 1, 2, etc., and implement it. (By the way, give us the option to hold out players from Preseason. LT, for example).

Media. Give s press conference news or a newspaper. Something! Give us storylines, such as the T.O./Dallas saga or Spygate.

Have us upload NCAA rosters after season, and have us do scouting after season. This could allow the game to evaluate the season the player had that season.

In-Season: Player Production. Take out the idea that Peyton Manning would play this way, while Chris Simms would play that way. Too many times have QBs in my season throw for 80% completion. Jamaal Charles even ran for 1600 yards! Go into the game without any of that, and let gameday do the talking. For example, lets say the Vikes are giving up 50 yards per game. The average RB shouldnt expect to gain more than 60-75. However, LT has a better chance than most.

Breakout players. If a guy racks up consecutive 100 yard games, then he should be harder to stop.

Rookies. Make them start out on the bottom of the food chain. Have them work their way into the offense/defense.

A Franchise exclusive rating could be Playbook mastery. For example, if the Bucs started Josh Johnson ran Gruden's offense in 08, the playbook would be watered down, so his rating would be lower. However, Luke McCown, since he's been there a while, would open it up more.

Add a chemistry factor. Player Chemistry is very important in the NFL. Its what gives QBs the timing they have with their WRs. Im P. Manning got hurt, and J. Sorgi had to come in, the Chemistry should suffer at first, but grow as he plays better or worse. Of course, he wouldnt suffer as much because he's been there.

Finances. They were confusing, and seemed irrelevant, as I could sign whoever I wanted. Make it more understandable.

AFC Championship Game, Super Bowl. Make the winning team hold up a trophy, and have confetti, a lot of player reactions.

    Offseason:

Coaches. I could hire any coach I wanted, and this is not possibly. Put factors into accepting job and interest, such as location, winning percentage, team rating.

Assistant Coaching. Put in assistant coaches. I would love to be able to promote a Raheem Morris type to D. Coordinator of HC.

Retirements. Have us pitch ONE idea at a retiring player to have him play one more year(New coach, Super Bowl promise.)

Team Hall of Fame. Let us have a personal Team HOF. That wold be Cool.

Player signings. It shouldnt be best offer. Have a player seriously weigh the pro's and con's of going to a team.( For example, WR #1 on a rebuilding team or be the #3 Wr on a team expected to contend for a championship.) Also, possibly have a set list of teams he wants to play for, and ones he doesnt. (T.O. wouldnt want to go to the Pats, would not be cohesive with R. Moss.).

Pro Days. Give us rookie Pro Days. This could be a scouting mechanism to gain extra info on who we're targeting.

Mock Drafts from (ESPN) analysts. Don't you think Mel Kiper and Todd McShay want to be on a game? Give him his time to shine on what he does best.(You guys are with ESPN, right? So have them comment on draft day steals, disappointments, and bad picks. Have teams cheer and boo picks.

NFL Draft Contracts. Why do we have to sign them right away? First, improve their ratings ,too many 4th round pcks are 50s.

This is what I think could make the game better. Its lengthy, but its all true.

By the way, fix the game clock. It should be set to 25 seconds, not 60 and 40.

I think fixing franchise mode progression/regression (based on player performance) is the biggest and probably the easiest thing to do. Including intra-team scrimmages as part of franchise mode progression instead of the isolated drills shouldn't be too difficult either, I'd imagine.

hey EA please read this, i know its alot of comments but im a hardcore player and am rnaked online so ive seen every cheat in the book. heres my issues short n sweet...

#1. make more catch animations, i read your section bout the hands and heads moving in relation to the ball n progressive awareness stuff so that kinda goes along with this also.<b><u>o often have cheating online players sent a TE on a fly route(str8 forward) and simply bulleted the pass and analogged it up and somehow the 82 rated tight end makes a glitchy/choppy turnaround facing the QB and full-extending grab.</b></u... this is unrealistic, this works best  in zone and thatwould never happen in a real game. make a more realistic animation wen catchin a high bullet pass on a fly route. **this goes for corner route to(where it looks like a post pattern, but flipped to the outside), they do the same animation wen catching a bullet pass but even glitchier cause its a full 360. if their gonna make these unrealistic plays, at least make the defensive back make him pay for exposing his entire body that way.

#2<b>HUGE PROBLEM</b> i play with the bears and after forte gets tired, pretty much none of our RB's can carry the ball. but lets be realistic. even at 75CAR, no runningback(normally) fumbles on his first carry, make him more susceptible to fumble the more you give him the ball. 3 touches=high risk of fumbling. dnt make CAR a set amount of chance of him fumbling every snap, make CAR his ability to keep a low chance of fumbling over more carries, so you can look at a guy and decide how your going to use your running backs. all 3 like the bears in 07 to reduce chances giving them all limited carries or if you get a stud like uuuuh, idk, FORTE n since he's an every down back maybe you'll give your number 2 guy 7 carries scatttered throughout the game. but when you put a second string guy in, he shouldnt be a substantial risk to fumble his first 2 carries.

#3<b>HUGE, HUGE PROBLEM</b>. hit stick needs to be exploited. anyone who plays the game knows that "hit stick" is a much surer tackle than a sure tackle(just running into the player and letting the computer wrap up) in madden. and that's completely backwards. in the NFL ypu might see 4-7 BIG hits, because it's not a sure tackle. <b><u>IN MADDEN 09 HITSTICK OVERRIDES JUKE MOVES, SPIN MOVES 95% OF THE TIME</b></u> meaning if im 1-on-1 with a user, my chances of using an elusive move is slim to none, ill just get hammered when he presses hit stick, regardless of what back im playing with. highly in realistic. make it much harder to time. <b>when you it stick it almost "heat seekes" you to the ball-carrier and pops him</b> make it more difficult so even the best at doing it, depending on what player you have, have a success percentage of about 75% when a player is just catching the ball, but when ball carrying, drop it to around 30%-40% depending on tackling and hit power of tackler and elusiveness and quickness of ballcarrier. im not joking, about 5 times on a return i beat the whole team with Devin Hester only to have the darn kicker HIT STICK ME at the 50 yd line.tighten that up. make sure tackling of more value and use in madden 10

    #4

keep up the good work on man coverage, i was about to talk about thatbut reading what you guys have done is just wonderful. only thing i would add is a good defensive back(CB/SFTY/COV. LNEBACKER above 87 ovrl) should catch on to a route. if a player runs 2 pass plays 6 times in one quarter they should jump it. to level it out if it looks really similar or if the offensive user hot routes, they should jump and pay. depending on aggresiveness.

WELL i at least tried to keep it short and sweet lol =^], well now it's long and efficient. lots of valuable info.

O and just wanted to say thanx for implimenting the diffrent qb accuracy ratings in diff. passes cuz too many below par QB's played like payeton manning due to haziness at distinguishing the talent with only two ratings (THPW, THAC) thanx for weeding out the good QB'S from the bad. <b>and at the right time too with JAY CUTLER IN CHICAGO =]</b>

this doesn't really matter but in franchise mode keep the stratches on the player's helmet during the season until a new season starts.also have players change their helmet when they feel.

have some better jersey cuts and if someone gets arm tackled have it tuck out.

have different running styles like balanced, finesse, and power.

make having gloves or no gloves matter.

the half sleeve accessory should be around the player's bicep not their forearm.

hey EA please read this, i know its alot of comments but im a hardcore player and am rnaked online so ive seen every cheat in the book. heres my issues short n sweet...

#1. make more catch animations, i read your section bout the hands and heads moving in relation to the ball n progressive awareness stuff so that kinda goes along with this also.<b><u>o often have cheating online players sent a TE on a fly route(str8 forward) and simply bulleted the pass and analogged it up and somehow the 82 rated tight end makes a glitchy/choppy turnaround facing the QB and full-extending grab.</b></u... this is unrealistic, this works best  in zone and thatwould never happen in a real game. make a more realistic animation wen catchin a high bullet pass on a fly route.

#3<b>HUGE, HUGE PROBLEM</b>. hit stick needs to be exploited. anyone who plays the game knows that "hit stick" is a much surer tackle than a 'sure tackle'(just running into the player and letting the computer wrap up) in madden. and that's completely backwards. in the NFL ypu might see 4-7 BIG hits, because it's not a sure tackle. <b>when you "Hit stick it" almost "heat seekes" you to the ball-carrier and pops him</b> make it more difficult so even the best at doing it, depending on what player you have, has a success percentage of about 75% when a player is just catching the ball, but when ball carrying, drop it to around 30%-40% depending on tackling and hit power of tackler and elusiveness and quickness of ballcarrier. im not joking, about 5 times on a return i beat the whole team with Devin Hester only to have the darn kicker HIT STICK ME at the 50 yd line.tighten that up. make 'sure tackling' of more value and use in madden 10

    #4

keep up the good work on man coverage, i was about to talk about thatbut reading what you guys have done is just wonderful. only thing i would add is a good defensive back(CB/SFTY/COV. LNEBACKER above 87 ovrl) should catch on to a route. if a player runs 2 pass plays 6 times in one quarter they should jump it. to level it out if it looks really similar or if the offensive user hot routes, they should jump and pay. depending on aggresiveness. Man coverage was just a joke in madden 09, only time i used it was to stop people excessively using the cheat addressed in #1, with the glitchy catch animation.

WELL i at least tried to keep it short and sweet lol =^], well now it's long and efficient. lots of valuable info.

what's going on madden team. I am a die hard madden fan. I know you guys are working very hard on this year's madden, but your only providing the madden experience. We also want the excitement of football, the nfl experience, personalities of the players, fans, coaches, gm, the locker room, and the news. Let's see close up camera action and commentary on the key players before they receive a punt or kickoff.PRE GAME WARM UP AND STRETCHES,QBS PASSING THE BALL, OR COME STRAIGHT TO THE COMMENTATORS BEFORE GAME PLAY. JUST MIX IT UP EVERYTIME A GAME IS ABOUT TO START. THE SAME STUFF GETS BORING. SHOW PEOPLE TAILGATING,TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER, MAKE MY EYES POP OUT WITH HD PRESENTATION,WITH AT LEAST UP TO 12 DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIFFERENT PRESENTATION. ONLINE PRESENTATIONS OR SEASON PRESENTATION SHOULD TALK ABOUT THE LOSS OR WIN YOUR COMING OFF FROM LAST WEEK'S GAME/OPPONENT, STREAKS, OR HOT AND COLD SREAKS, AND WHAT A TEAM NEEDS TO DO OR IMPROVE ON TO GET BACK IN IT,ETC. Offense and defensive coordinators talking to their guys with sound. Let's see the kicker warming up for a game winning field goal by kicking balls through the net. Commentators on the field interviewing players or coaches about gameplans pre-game, halftime, post game, and injury reports. Key players and groups of players should be mic'ed up so we can hear them motivate their team in differen situations. Coaches should be heard in positive or negative reactions in response to bad plays, player mistakes, bad calls or no calls made by the ref. We should see helmet slapping with sound effects, jersey grabbing, face masks up close and personal with different helmet movements. Everything should'nt be so routine. Every time I pop madden in there should be an abundant amount of things I didn't see last game I played. We should be able to hear hand clapping by the coaches and fans in celebration, the oohs and aahs of the fans when they hear and see big hits, juke moves, big catches, big 3rd down/fourth down conversions, sound effects should be of the charts. What's the purpose of having all this technology of sound with hdmi cables when there's nothing to listen for. The announcers have no excitement reaction to what the players are doing on the field during commentary, so that gets boring after a few games. The crowd and individuals or groups of fans should yell out team players names. One thing I hated about the fans and sideline players is that they never followed the game play.Let's see replays or challenges on the stadium tvs in hd while putting us in a fan's perspective, then alternate back to the refs challenge screen, picture in picture screen, or my tv screen.Make madden interesting, exciting, and unpredictable. I've read the new additions so please make them turn their heads and follow the game play. The fans should start leaving when teams are losing and the action cameras should zoom in on the die hard fans that stayed even though their down by 50. Lets put these action cams to work. Super Zoom in as a player reaches in zone, super zoom out and capture the whole stadium exploding, sideline player reaction zoom, coaches , fans or do all around, and catch everyone, the ref running in throughing hands up. Zoom cam should be up close on refs players during goalline action. Lets see dive over the pile action, players hitting rbs in mid air to stop the run, d-line crashing down on goaline to stop the run.  The players that have been ruffed up, sacked, had collisions, hard contact should get up adjusting their shoulder pads, helmets, facemask,or jerseys with help from team mates at times. Face mask should have grass in it and see players dig it out. Big plays celebrations- players should butt heads, pat helmets, push each other around, see them laughing during celebrating, jumping hip banging celebrations, signature celebrations, etc. These celebrations should be mic'ed up with tru sound effects. Fgs should not be so boring. Certain kickers should be able to curve kicks based off their attributes and see different cinema angles once kicked, especially game winners. Game winning kick attempts should show the certain players and coaches kneeling and waiting, praying, holding hands or with heads down. Online in-game play should be a huge uplift from regular gameplay. It should be a play-off atmosphere when online. So there shoul be a playoff action atmosphere mode setting for on or offline. This game needs an overall excitement boost. Because after a while we as fans purchase madden just because we want to play football, not because its madden. You've got to keep madden from getting boring. Now that a living roster is available, there should be an update called the nfl experience which can be updated based on different types of excitement based on real football games and the things I've blogged about. You can at least put these things(coaches, fans, off./def. coordinators, key players, interviews, kicker warming up, backup qbs warming up, general managers, injury reports, fans leaving, sellout crowds coming in,etc.) in the picture in picture screen while picking plays, but don't cut the interview sessions once i pick my play, let them keep talking. This is 2010,it supposed to be upclose and personal. Chills supposed to be going through my bones from excitement, sounds, and voices of the game. Just think about the personalities in raider country, T.o. on the sideline yelling, jamarcus russell batting his helmet or chest when he makes mistakes, announcer getting dramatic before a game winning kick and excited feedback when he makes or misses, jumping up and down team celebration in game breaking endings. If its in the game,PUT IT IN THE GAME. THERE SHOULD BE ACTION CAMS ALL OVER THE PLACE. LETS SEE THE COACHES GET THE SIGNAL FROM UPSTAIRS TO CHALLENGE PLAYS AND SEE HIM THROW THE FLAG. INSTEAD OF THE REF SAY ITS OVERTURNED OR STANDS, LETS HERE A CONTINUATION,FOR EXAMPLE- REF SAYS, THE BILLS ARE CHALLENGING TO SEE IF THE PLAYER WAS IN BOUNCE BEFORE HE BOBBLED THE CATCH.AFTER, REF SAYS THE PLAYER DID NOT HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE BALL, THEREFORE IT IS NOT A CATCH,BUFFALO WILL BE CHARGED WITH THEIR FIRST TIME OUT, OR TOUCHDOWN CHARGERS!!, OR TURNOVER ON DOWNS, ORFIRST DOWN PANTHERS!! WHILE THE REF IS ANNOUNCING THIS THEIR IS AN OVER ALL REACTION FROM FANS,COACHES,GMS,AND PLAYERS. SO BRING THE REFS TO LIFE, MIC 'EM UP AND LET THEM TALK MORE. LETS SEE THEM HUDDLE UP AND RUN DOWN THE FIELD, AND SPOT THE BALL. LETS SEE PLAYERS PILE UP ON EACH OTHER DURING FUMBLES. LETS SEE THE REFS BREAK 'EM UP.NOT ALL THE TIME BUT SOMETIMES MAKE IT SIMPLE RECOVERIES, MEDIUM, OR HARD WHICH INVOLVES THE REFS. PUT ALL TO DATE UNIFORMS IN THE GAME. MY FALCONS DIDN'T HAVE THE AWAY WHITE ON GRAY THROW BACKS. WE SHOULD HAVE ALL JERSEY HOME AND AWAY THROWBACKS ON OR OFFLINE PLAY. WHO WANTS TO EARN SOMETHING WE ALREADY DESERVE. THE OPTION TO PLAY NIGHT GAMES ONLINE. LETS GET THE EFFECT OF WIND IN WINDY CITIES. ALL COLD WEATHER GEAR SHOULD BE ON FANS, PLAYERS, COACHES, GMS, EVERYBODY. THE WARM HAND POUCHES ON UNIFORMS WITH NFL AND TEAM LOGOS. A GREATER DETAILED SIDELINE. SUMMER SIDELINES SHOUND HAVE FANS ,BENCHES, BIKE MACHINES, GATORADE,ETC. SHOW US HOW WINDY IT IS BY ACTION CAMS CLOSING IN ON THE AMERICAN FLAG IN STADIUM OR FG FLAGS FLUTTERING. GET NFL NETWORK AND ESPN INVOLVED.SEE REFS THROW FLAGS, AND COACH THROW CHALLENGE FLAGS.THE FANS,STADIUMS, BUILDINGS AND CARS STILL LOOK CARTOONISH. CAN'T YALL MAKE A REAL STADIUM/BUILDING TO THE TEE THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY.LIFING UP THE PLAYERS BY GIVING US THE CHOICE TO ADD FACE PAINT OR ACCESSORIES. LETS SEE THESE GUY MAKE ALL TYPES OF FACIAL EXPRESSIONS. AND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD CAN WE SEE AND HEAR THEM TALK ON DEFENSE AND OFFENSE WHEN KEY PLAYERS OR CAPTAINS ARE PICKING UP ON A PLAY. POINTING AND GESTURING SAYING I GOT WEAK SIDE, OR WATCH THE FAKE. WILDCAT,TRICK PLAYS AND REVERSES NEED TO BE ADDED TO WHERE THEY WORK IF A TEAM IS OFF GUARD BUT NOT EXPLOITED ALSO DEPENDING ON TEAM ATTRIBUTE AND PERSONEL TO DO THAT PLAY. USE ACTION CAMS AND PICTURE IN PICTURE TO THE FULLEST IN HD AND SOUND, THOUGH IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO HAVE THESE FEATURES I'VE DISCUSSED ALTERNATE BETWEEN PICTURE IN PICTURE AND IN GAME EXPERIENCES DURING GAMEPLAY THROUGH BRING TO LIFE ACTION CAMS. WITHOUT THESE FEATURES MADDEN JUST GETS BORING AGAIN. MADDEN FANS WANT MORE THAN 2K5 STANDARDS, WHICH HAS NOT YET BEEN REACHED. WE WANT TO BLOW IT OUT OF THE WATER, 2010 STYLE!!! WE SHOULD BE WAY ADVANCED AND OVER ACHIEVED BY NOW. THAT WAS FIVE YEARS AGO AND BLOGGERS AGREE 2K5 IS STILL WINNING. WHAT DO YOU THINK MADDEN FANS, AM I ASKING FOR TOO MUCH?BLOG IN ON THIS AND LET ME KNOW IF THIS ISN'T THE MOST EXCITING NFL EXPERIENCE YET!!!!!!!!

Fix the running and throwing animations please. Absolutely sucked in 09. 2k8 had the right idea but they could've still been better. Add specific throwing animations for each qb. Sidearm, tendencies ect. Phil Rivers doesn't throw like Peyton Manning... not all qbs are alike. This would make the game feel so much for realistic. Should have a wide variety of running styles as well. Pigeon toed people for example, guys with longer or shorter strides, what they do with their hands ect. This is my biggest concern because I felt every character in 09 was the same except for skin color, jersey, weight and height... they all played and looked the same.

  • warrior310 said April 11, 2009

    lol jsmith

let the trucking/stiff arm work well for the power backs.

let the spininng and juking work well for the finesse backs.

have first person football, tournaments, and situations it almost like your very own madden moments but you make your own situation.

have something like the "crib" i believe 2k has it.

let some players be pickier about signing contracts and the highest amount of years for a contract is 8 not 7.

have a better schedule screen in franchise.

have a screen in the offseason where you can talk players out of retirement no matter what team the are from and let the cpu to it too.

show the player's intrest in signing with a team, show how much money they would want so you can beat other team's offers.

it should take longer to agree with a deal not just like 1,2,3

if you sign a player and you have a game the next day or sohe shouldn't be ready to play yet.

have the annoucers talking about weather like the degrees, the wind speed etc...

let us create new plays and formations for franchise mode, i want to see plays from reverses, flea flickers etc...

    bring back the qb vision.

I forget how in depth ESPN was before i watched that video. I'd really love to see Madden step it up. Here's a thought that us Madden players would love, but it really doesn't benefit EA...how about EA makes "The Perfect Football Experience", sell it for 60 like usual, then every year just make the new rosters and whatnot as DLC every year after that? So, instead of 60 dollars for new rosters and graphics, we just pay the 20 per year for DLC. Like I said, EA would never go for it because they're too money hungry, but it's just a thought.

  • ANaturalSweater said April 11, 2009

Think the game should include interactive stadiums.  I.E. in Pittsburgh at Heinz Field, when the Steelers reach the red zone, the ketchup bottles at the jumbo tron open up their lids and tip down indicating a "red zone".  Other stadiums that are interactive like this, Tampa Bay for one, should have those work in Madden NFL 10.  Sure they won't be tho, but just a thought.  I do see it on Sundays.

  • warrior310 said April 11, 2009

players should be effected by the moves they make like if they truck someone, his speed should go down then regain because no one just trucks someone and not have any effect as far as speed.

for players who get traded their morale should go down or up, example jay cutler he found out he was trade bait so his morale went down and it went back up now that he is a bear.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 11, 2009

To warrior310, I watched the vid, and all I could say is WOW!!!! I forgot how great that series was, tho the running animation sucked, lol. i think EA could take a couple pages out their book. And south ga boys, you need to make your post clearer. I dont think anyone would take the time out to read it. Even said it himself in the vid, they take the well thought out posts and lists and put them up.

You can read pnhshooper54 as an example or read mines. Its lengthy, but trust, you will agree with everything in there:

    Thoughts anyone?????

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 11, 2009

Also, warrior310, the highest contract is 9; Urlacher signed one back in 03

  • warrior310 said April 11, 2009

i think we all want to see real stats because in franchise i never see a player with 20+ sacks or like 15 and  some of the players have way too much tackles.

i see like 120 tackles every year, and it could happen but i haven't seen more than 1 player with about 14 tackles in a game.

just stating that the cpu stats are too high.also make the probowl voting smarter.

    @ JSmithDK

Dawg, your post is off the hook! I wouldn't be surprised if your post is next on Ian's wall. I enjoyed at least 80% of your suggestions, others i didn't really get, but hey, not sayin they're bad ideas either haha I also wouldn't be surprised if they somehow got in touch with you. Good s**t man.

  • DontTry2Hard said April 11, 2009

JSmithDK, your ideas are great. Some of them are a bit picky, but I think most of them would greatly increase the playabilitiy/replay value of the game. Great post.

Also- in NCAA they one could take pictures while viewing replays and that would be the cover of the ESPN.com thing. That would be so awesome. A lot of times I'd have some epic shot of my QB diving over the goalpost for a 2pt conversion or my defense pitching a shutout and take a picture of a huge hit. I think having pictures makes franchise a bit more fun. I know it's not a big deal and there are bigger fish to fry, but it's been in madden before and it's in NCAA. It may be more difficult than I think it is to incorporate, but I think it'd be a welcome addition.

hey does anyone else notice that in madden receiver size kinda doesnt matter any more? like i use the titans and every off season in franchise mode i pickup a huge WR just like i would do in real life, but in madden 09 i have plaxico vs some 5'9" corner and the corner does this amazing jump and swats it away. sorry but i dont have a fix for this problem :(. but i just wanted to see if anyone else noticed that...

i think it will be good if the crowd could make more noise when someone is going for a 3 and 1 or 4and 1....be available to pump them up more or even maybe make the camera shake like when you watch it on TV,and have the crowd say more of there chants,i know they do but its should be more often, and when a player gets hit they should LOOSE there HELMETS once in a while and see there mouth piece flying off.CROWD NOISE MAKE IT MORE REAL.make the CONTROLLER RUMBLE and SCREEN SHAKE.

do something diffrent when playing superstarmode

for the past 3 years it just been the same, same agent, drills, and your mom wishing you the best.when playin superstar mode i think it be good if maybe you can change the camera views, for example changing it to first person view to make it more realistic, and also maybe having like clutch a moment, where having a bar the fills up and when it fills up,just for a few seconds everything goes in slow motion where your superstar can have a chance to make a big play.

    BeefBones said April 11, 2009

RIGHT ON! THERES FINALLY SOMEONE ON HERE THAT REALIZES THIS CRAP

    - MAKE IT WERE ANY WR CANT OUT RUN ANY DB, HELL IM PLAYIN MADDEN AND I JUST GOT RAN OFF ON BY HINES WARD W/87SPD WITH FAB.WASHINGTON/98SPD. ITS TERRIBLE, WHEN I CLICK ON TO RUN HIM DOWN IT ACTUALLY SLOWED ME DOWN????????

    - MAKE PLAYERS SEEM MORE AGILE, WHATS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING 90+AGL/90+SPD IF I CANT SHAKE WITH THE PLAYERS EASILY.

    - FIX! PRECISION PASSING, GO BACK AND PLAY 06 WHEN IT WAS INTRODUCED

    - FIX! MAN/ZONE COVERAGE THERES WAY TO MUCH SEPARATION EVEN ON A SIMPLE OUT ROUTE EVEN IF ITS THE BEST DB.

    - FIX! THE DAMN RUN GAME, YOU CANT RUN THE BALL WITHOUT THE DAMN SUCTION MAGNET. I CANT EVEN OUT RUN G.ELLIS WITH BRAIN WESTBROOK GOING TOWARDS THE SIDES.

    - FIX! THE HIGHLIGHT STICK, IT SHOULD BE FIRST SERVE

    - DB'S DROP TO MANY INTS. ESPECIALLY WIDE OPEN

    - BRING BACK THE 05-06 CONTROL CONFIGURATION

                                                                           things to improve (part 2)

have realistic throwing motions ( do a mo-cap with all the QB"s in the game if possible) a accurate QB shouldn't have the same motion as a cannon arm QB.

the ball's spiral, it looks very fake like they're throwing a log in the air.

    much more tackle animations.

in franchise let the CPU force injured players to play also.

the QB vision will go perfect with that new awareness thing you guys have.

when i see a hold or an arm tackle i want to see the jersey being pulled

    www.youtube.com/watch

also when you see that dude #80 i want to see a jersey cut like that call it loose.

why for the tight jerseys you cut the whole sleeve off?

in franchise we don't want to see fake TE's with # 5, thats like ray lewis having #9.

if a player in franchise is on the trade block and it was adressed by the media that player's morale should go down and he should skip training camp, beg to be traded/released (from an e mail), or if he doesn't want to play bench him until he comes to his sinces like chad johnson.

i do not want to see any player with body builder muscles or huge shoulder pads.

let the player's weight and height effect his speed and running style.

that talk out of retirement thing should be available year around so like if you start the season with  the lions and being that bret favre is retired give us the ability to talk him out of it.

  • warrior310 said April 12, 2009

also have a list of recent retired players in franchise so you can talk them out i don't want to bring back a guy like barry sanders or anything because he's way old.

lets us choose the degrees, time, and condition we play in, like off of madden o8 where ya'll let us choose the type of weather b/c i didnt like it when we could on play in a overcast, partly couldly, rain, heavy rain, snow, and heavy snow. i would want to pick the degrees because not all the time i wanna play in snow b/c sometimes i would just wanna play in cold games or games when its cold and raining

i'm very proud about the people we have that are posting very good posts, just make sure handle gameplay, presentation, and have all types of equipment platyers wear in real life because qbs wear flat jackets and most rbs wear back plates and there are alot of cleats, facemasks, helmet stles, gloves, sleeve types, and diffrent places where you could put wristbands

and the qb wristband with the plays on it look to big on the qbs for ex.(romo) he look skinny with this big looking qb wristband on, not all qb wristbands are that large only qb wristband is that large in real life is jake delhomme

please make sure ya'll add all the team uniforms in the game b/c i pickedd raven's purple on white uniform and their home uniform is the same too, and bears dont have their white on white uniform, i could go on and on about all the 32 teams uniforms but i'll get tired

oh this is my one wish list for the game have where you ask the offense coordinator the play to run and not madden and when you ask him you hear him calling the play in your helmet, and if you are playing against someone next to you its not like they gone now the play

make harder hits for rivarly game

and by the way if you fans want things to get added to the game how about you see what the most things everybody want in the game and you mention it too instead of mentioning dumb ideas that nobody else mention, even though nobody's ideas are dumb b/c thats why they are called ideas, but that way when madden dev team are reading peoples comments they'll see want everbody wants. say for instience if they skip the fist comment and go to the 4th comment they are going to see somewhat the same comment like the 1st comment but in diffrent words and i bet they will realize then what all the fans want in the game

  • jellybean3454 said April 12, 2009

warrior310 has some great ideas. But, Qp33zy, i have to disagree on the too many DROPPED interceptions. I'd have to say that there were too many interceptions caught. I intercepted Drew Brees off of 3 consecutive passes. In the 1st quarter. None of the players swat the balls, they only go for picks.

  • south ga boyz said April 12, 2009

There also should be an addition to running the ball.

When players break out on a run there should be a high step button to keep a player from getting tripped from behind. But at the same time, there should be different animations for 1)a player getting tripped up falling off balance clumsily, but stays up or falls down. The player punches the ground or grabs grass in discuss because he could have scored. 2) a player gets tripped up by one player and while trying to keep balance, another player in pursuit drags him down or jumps on his back and pulls him down. 3) a player plants his arm in the ground and keeps on trucking 4) a player fumbles the ball while trying to stay up but able to make quick fumble recoveries based on attributes.

Finesse wide receivers/rbs should have greater moves after a hand off or catch. the same for big receivers or big rbs ,but there moves should be more slower. Give them signature moves also. Like 1) stop, juke, and burst moves, 2) double jukes that uses extreme body language. A head and body shake juke for first move and any direction you want to go using the stick. All these additions are based off the player's attributes, skills, or rating.

Let's catch true emotions of players, coaches, fans, announcers,gm,etc. throughout the gameplay.Show players without helmets on with action cam. right now I'm loving MLB the show, but exceed their standards. We want more excitement and emotion out of madden!!!!

one of the things i would really like to see is first person football. and i was thinking u don't really need to add all of the name brand gloves and stuff just put all of the nfl gloves that they wear in real life and also put cutters. also it would be sweet if the annoucers in the game had more enthusiasim like they do in ncaa. and also i would love to be able to stutter step in the game and break someones ankles. or break mulitple tackles one after another or push the pile for the first down. also fix the qb sneak because they don't really just run straight up they get down lown behind their o-line and push for the yardaged. i can't wait till the next update keep it up

  • PaRkErLHDC42294 said April 12, 2009

With this new QB feature, in madden 09, john madden said throw the ball were only the wide out can get the ball. have the QB throw the ball were only the Wide out can get the ball. Another feature that every QB has their own throwing styles. In madden 09, every QB throws the same. With nba live 09, signature shooting styles is good. With madden 10, signature throwing styles would be an excellent feature in Madden 10.

  • south ga boyz said April 12, 2009

By the way, the running models are cool as far as signature style(still needs work), but when you see most runs from a side ways, replay, or across the middle catch and run, the player's look like they have chicken legs with charlie brown shoes on. Especially receivers/rbs. And I always refered to charlie brown's shoes as looking like a potatoe,or a sub sandwich bun. Let's get these running motions and appearances in check. Let's work on better leg motion and cleats also. These guys look like their running on a broke down treadmill at full speed. Take notes off of ps3 college 08 replays, there awesome. Now thats how running looks. Exceed those and we'll be alright.

online superstar mode. 22 players on a team, 1 guy at each position = delicious. As you get better or worse, depending on how much time you put into it you can get traded ect.

  • CaptainJack49 said April 12, 2009

Please have the Bucs white jersey/Orange pants throwbacks in Madden 10.

    Also, in Franchise Mode:

    1) We should only be able to use 45 players on gameday, therefore, we'd have to deactivate any players over 45 man limit.

    2) Do away with a minimum quantity at a position. If I want to carry 15 wide recievers on my roster (provided that many would actually sign! See #3) that's my perogative. If I only want to carry 8 offensive lineman, that's the risk I want to be able to take and if I have a plethra of injuries during the season, I'll have to adjust accordingly.

    3) As mentioned above, players signing with a team shouldn't be simply be about the money. Most players in the NFL want to play. So if I have Tom Brady locked up in a 6 year contract and Donovan McNabb becomes a free agent and only wants to start, he's not going to sign with me regardless of how much money I throw at him.

    4) Players should have 'Primary' positions. For instance, if I have Ronde Barber on my team as a CB rated at 90 overall and change him to a QB with a 45 overall and try to re-sign him as a QB, it should default back to his 'Primary' position for signing purposes so I couldn't sign him as a low QB then change him back to a CB with an overall of 90 make chump change.

    5) Slow down the offseason. Everything seems so rushed, especially the draft. Have names annouced at least through the first round. Remember, the NFL Draft has become a HUGE event, treat it like one! It seems almost like an 'Oh, by the way' event in off-season.

    6) We should be able to fire a coach during the season and promote an assistant or hire someone to fill the void.

    7) More options for 'create a team'. More generic logos. Also, have the current and throwback logos available for created teams as well. I believe EA has the NFL license (If I'm wrong, sorry!) so this shouldn't be an issue.

    8) It seemed in Madden 09 that every CPU controlled player was ALWAYS in sprint mode and when you switched players, they would lose a step or two even if you still had the sprint butten mashed.

    9) Expand preseason rosters to least 70 players. Allow us to have practices and have a cut down schedule to reach a 53 man roster. (It's in the game, put it in the game.)

    10) Have O-line hold there blocks during running plays. It seems like once you are next to a D-line who's engaged in a block, they easily break away and tackle you for a 2 yard gain, regardless of how big the was to run through in the first place.

Those are just a few things that come to mind while I'm trying to ingore all the noise at my house. HAPPY EASTER, Everyone!!!

Also, make the sidelines and fans more realistic.

Basically watch the ESPN NFL games and take some ideas from there...They did it right.

  • prettyrik said April 12, 2009

EA please take out the back juke that animation is horrible the PS2 version was way better just a subtle hesitation. Also the one arm body slam done by RB's isn't too realistic. Instead they should just bounce of tackles a little out of control if the running back is strong enough to keep his balance still allowing the defense to make a tackle or RB to break away if the user stick skills are good enough, which is a win/more realistic situation for both offense and defense.

This is minor but can the smart route for your receiver to run to the first down mark be changed to a button instead of clicking R3. Not sure if it's just me, but sometimes it's not responsive online and offline and your receiver doesn't run to the first down mark not allowing you a chance to get a first down. When playing somebody head to head you don't want to show your play every time to make sure it was done right. Even with bluff play art it won't really matter on 3rd and long.

I'm able to live it with, but the running animations could be and look more natural. If you look at a replay of the defense chasing an offensive player on a break away play you could see how robotic everyone looks and the difference between someone who is faster than others doesn't look to smooth/natural. Hopefully slowing down the speed of the game will really improve this.

Last thing I think there should be a least some type of animation for OL to at least show some effort even if they are beat on a play. It's really frustrating to see your outside tackles let a defensive end go right through the inside "UNTOUCHED". I know this has to do with defensive play calling and blocking schemes/def stunts and what not. However, I think it's real rare that a defensive end will go through the inside of an OL (between the tackle and guard) without even being touched or the defensive team not sending a blitz worst case scenario one of the offensive lineman would "TRY" their best to knock the DE off balance or hold them and hope to not get caught for a penalty than allow their allow their quarterback to get murdered in the backfield by DE coming full pursuit. It's a lot more noticeable with the suction effect on sacks that you guys explained in your earlier posts, because even if you see him coming you still can't get the no matter what the game will override what reaction you where trying to and give the opposing team a sack.

Keep up the hard work guys. Hopefully you could take this post into consideration for madden 10 or madden 11.

I am disappointed with one feature in the create-a-team mode. The whole thing is really good, but i couldnt help but notice that you can only choose 8 different colours for your team.

Could you possibly make the colour selection similar to that of NHL 09? Like having a custom colour thing, and palettes of all of the NFL teams?

I would be very happy if you could consider my request, and since it really has nothing to do with the actually gameplay, it wouldnt like change the whole game. Thank you for listening to what I have to say, and i'm looking forward to the new game.

I was playin franchise earlier, tryin to train a couple of my linemen before the upcoming game and for some reason, my linemen can't seem to bring down Westbrook. Conversely, during an actual game, Westbrook can't break a tackle for his life even though he's a so called "elusive back". Seems like it's impossible for me to stop the computer during training drills. Oh, Rocket Catching by DBs is ridiculous too. I've seen WR rocket catching metioned in other comments, but I haven't seen anything about DBs. If I burn a DB with a cut move, how come when I bomb it to my receiver, the DB can sprint back to the point of completion and knock down the ball, or worse, intercept it? Sometimes it seems impossible to complete passes to wide open WRs.

I think the option to play with three other players on one team is a great idea to bring back to madden. Madden 09 does not offer this option only allowing two players per team. Franchise mode is also a blast while playing with three other players to make a total of four players per team.

  • ryan18manning18 said April 12, 2009

Multi player option for xbox live I think is a must. The option to link up with a live member friend to challenge another team as in two live members vs two live members woud be sweet. Please figure out a way to add this option during online play.

  • jshblessing said April 12, 2009

First of all I would like to say that I am very excited about the new features that are being put into the new game. It seems like the team has put a lot into the new game to make it better. The are a few more things though that I think would make it better. I realize that at this stage in the process it would be unlikely that any made it in but I think that they could be great additions to future Madden installments:

Re-vamp the kicking game. With the current system kicking field goals is almost automatic. Pretty much if you have a high kick power you can make 50 yard FGs into the wind all day.  I think that if the system relied more heavily on how you moved the analog stick then it would make kicking more interesting. If you completely get rid of the orange arrow that allows you to line up your kicks and just move the analog stick in the direction of the center the goal posts then your human error has a better chance of messing you up, especially on long kicks. And as for kicking accuracy, this stat can be an aid to help you if you are just a little off track. Also icing the kicker like in NCAA would make kicks more interesting, especially if combined with taking out the error. Not to mention having to shorten up your swing with the stick for onside kick attempts.

A solution to freak players. When Michael Vick got drafted it was questioned how there would be room for players like him on madden. He obviously gave us that solution on his own, but being a 49ers fan I have another problem - the Vernon Davis problem. The man ran a 4.39 at the combine and ran down Josh Wilson after an interception and has 93 speed. Then One day while adjusting stats manually (because LT shouldn’t have run and pass blocking of 72) speed I noticed that if I brought Vernon Davis’s blocking stats up to 70 (because he will destroy people on blocks) he immediately becomes a 99 and the best TE in the league, which I will agree that he is not.??? I have a few possible solutions to this but I don’t know how effective any of them will be. 1.) Reorganize the way that stats affect the overall player rating. 2.) Use separate scales for stats at each position. Ex: Rothlesberger would have 95-100 elusiveness and strength and Hines Ward would have 100 tackle (see Keith Rivers) 3.) Use subdivisions. Ex: blocking TE run-stuffing DE pass-rush DT, you could put each player in each category for their position (just have 2 or 3 different drop-down menus per position from the player management screen) and they would have a separate overall stat for each (I think that this would be the most effective and probably easiest solution – also it would make personnel decisions more realistic because if I put Cato June in the Patriots system he wouldn’t be a 90 at outside linebacker because he isn’t big enough.

The effectiveness of moving a OLB to DE and other position changes. I guess the best way to do this would be to make size a more important factor (maybe even have a stat for it like in head coach)

Other things that I would like to see come in from head coach. Positional coach philosophy (but I’d like to see the philosophy before I sign him so I don’t have any surprises when my all-pro center goes from a 94 to an 83 because we’re running a different scheme) A production stat – I would just like this for the fact that I could see if a guy is going to make plays if sign him, even as a back-up. A better contract negotiation the system used in madden is VERY basic. I would even go a step further and say that I would like to improve the one in Head Coach be given a sliding scale for bonuses, base salary, and incentives (maybe 3-5 slots that you can use to pick the incentive type (starting 16 games, making pro-bowl, 100 tackles, etc.) and then put a scale next to it that allows you to set the monetary amount.

The ability to highlight a defensive player. Ex: Jared Allen has 3 sacks and we’re in the 2nd quarter. If there is any way I can MAKE my fullback pay more attention to him and watch my back that would be nice.

The ability to get a gauge for player potential when you see a player multiple times during the season. I love the idea that potential is being exposed again. That is something I’ve wanted for a long time. I also think that it would be a good idea if you could get a ballpark figure on what a players potential. NFL teams do this every year. You see teams signing players from their division rivals because they have gotten to see this player throughout the course of play and they think that he could be made into a good player. If you could maybe get a range of 10 or 15 from teams you play (80-89 or 80-94) that would be another effective way that you could evaluate players from free agency. Maybe the 15 range for players you see once and 10 for the players you see more than once.

The ability to highlight multiple players. This one may be hard to implement but if there was some way I could get my line to watch Steve Slaton (maybe at the price of some effectiveness with pass rush) and my secondary to watch Andre Johnson (and maybe give up their quickness getting to slaton on the draw) that would be nice.

The ability to use all Hall of Fame players. I realize that there is a problem with the NFLPA and the agreement that madden has with them but maybe Steve Young could just be QB #8 or something.

I also saw some other ideas I liked in the posts below.

Pre-snap pass/run commit, more flexible relocate/change team, More than just age (I agree carries is a more effective measure) to determine when a drop-off is, and stat bonuses for players that lead the team in a stat, and have character issues

one thing i would love to see and i think others would too, is if u fix the sidelines make it so when it's cold or raining out the players are wearing those jackets and are sitting by the heaters. and when its hot out have them sitting in front of the fans trying to get cool. and say when a player gets injured and it's pretty serious show a little cut scene of them being taken into the locker room. also what u should do for the touchdown dances is do what all pro football did and make it so u can pick from a list and when u press a button he does the dance. also please fix the visors and not just by adding clips but make them look real. in real life a dark visor is not pitch black u can kinda see the guys face it's a little transparent. but in the game u guys have them like they are coloured with metalic paint or something. also for create a team if i make a team and want to give them wings or horns on the helmets just like the eagles and vikings i should be able to. also for franchise mode i think it would be cool if u had this amazing player u should be able to write ur gameplan around him and create plays specifically for him. and also why when i make a rb in superstar mode and i get drafted to a team that runs alot they all of a sudden start passing thirty times a game. also the last thing i would love to see is at the end of the superbowl show the players of the winning team on the feild and the qb and mvp of the game on that little podium. and have the commisoner present the trophy and also have the players wear the superbowl hats and t-shirts. also what u should do for all the games is have them sing the national anthem i mean u can skip it if u want but i think it would be cool to add. thats all for now keep up with great work

  • swillz13 said April 12, 2009

also one thing i forgot to add is fix the handoffs in the game i know it doesn't sound important but i just hate how it looks in all of the maddens. in real life when they hand the ball off the runningback doesn't automatically open up his hands when they hut the ball. when he gets closer to the qb be he opens up and then when the ball touches his belly he closes the ball over it. and another thing i hate on handoffs is when the ball goes in sideways then automatically switches back to normal. also fix the WR and CB stances in real life the WR's have the foot closest to the qb in the front and look at this picture

    blog.cleveland.com/.../medium_X00111_9.jpg

this is what they should look like also look at the WR

Good stuff guys.  Just wanted to take the time to share a problem that I discovered last night while playing Madden 09.  I was playing at home with the Bears, and I noticed that you guys have the name of the stadium as "Chicago Stadium."  The actual name of the Bears' stadium is "Soldier Field."  Not sure if you guys can't put this into the game due to trademark or other copyright stuff, but please change this in Madden 10 if you can get around the legal stuff.  Also, as much as I love the Virtual Trainer, I don't like the "new" drills, can you please bring back the "old" minicamp drills from current gen--this actually helped me polish my skills, and they were a blast to compete for trophies and madden cards.  Thanks again for the updates, love the adaptive AI!

"Don't take this the wrong way but"...I had your back in the other forum, but dude, you gotta stop cuttin down other people's posts. You're the only person I see that bad mouths people's ideas or disagrees at all. If you don't like someone's idea, then keep it to yourself. Let people express their wants and if you like it, agree. I'm just sick of seeing your posts cutting people down. I know you have good intentions and you're not tryin to be a douche, but just have a little respect for first time posters.

so you guys basically bring in the *** riders to tell you how great you're doing? How about spending some extra time with Q&A so your franchise mode isn't so glitchy? Or making the offensive linemen react properly to a blitz, protecting from the inside out? Or not letting linebackers jump 10 feet into the air to make pics on passes over the middle? Maybe you should bring in the right guys that will tell you what is wrong with your game, since your Q&A does a piss poor job of it

  • Donovan Hill said April 12, 2009

I'm really excited to see the Madden crew opening it up to the public.

And a bunch of you guys have really awesome ideas on how to make the game more realistic, too.  From the suction-cup O-line that drives me crazy, to all the upgrade ideas in franchise mode, it's awesome stuff, that I believe in time will make the Madden series much more enjoyable.

I thought I'd share some of my ideas for future Maddens...not that I expect any of these to be on Madden 10, but just something to think about for future games...especially since I've been sitting on these ideas for awhile now.

    QB "MOTION":

I've seen Peyton Manning and Drew Brees do this a lot in games.  They'll start out in singleback, then they'll drop back into shotgun to anticipate the blitz.  I REALLY WISH you didn't have to call an audible just to get your QB to be in a shotgun stance.

    QB ACCURACY:

For some reason, I just don't feel like I have control over where my QB throws the ball.  It's really hard to put the ball over a WR's shoulder...and a lot of times in the passing game I'll see someone open, and try to hit them, and the QB throws it nowhere near where I want it to go.  I wish there was a way to actually put the ball over the outside shoulder.  Or lead receivers without having to run the direction you want to lead them.  Again, maybe I just don't know how to execute this correctly in the game.

    ALL-OUT RUNNING SPEEDS:

When guys are running the 40, they're maxing out, no doubt.  but the one thing they're NOT doing?  they aren't trying to catch a ball.  they're just hauling.

I think (and this may be a long-term project) there should be a way to allow WRs/TEs/RBs to "haul" for the ball (which would make line battles way more fun!) at the expense of accuracy.

For example, a player running at full speed would be more susceptible to dropping passes, would be harder to control unless running straight, and would be more likely to trip/lose balance from contact with a defender.

    SIDELINE "CHATTER":

Now that EA is projecting some pretty awesome stuff for the sidelines in Madden 10, here's an idea I think would be fun...a little friendly trash-talk.

You see it all the time in games.  A WR or RB runs out-of-bounds and into the opposing team's sideline, and there are "words" exchanged between the two parties:)

    - and as a fun side note, maybe there could even be a way to incite a fight when this is happening, as a way of building momentum for your team.  But obviously you'd have to be careful that the ref doesn't throw a flag!

    ...

So, those are my main thoughts about ways to improve the overall feel of the in-game experience.  I also have a couple of thoughts about Mini-Games/Franchise modes that I feel need to be addressed:

    QB CHALLENGE:

    - Why is it when I'm playing the QB Challenge, from time to time, I'll just get stuck on the goal line?  I'll throw the ball in, my receiver will catch it.  and then I'll be stuck on the 1-yard-line again.  This can be very frustrating, especially when you're trying to advance in Franchise Mode.

    - there's also a glitch sometimes when the receiver catches the ball near or behind the line of scrimage.  it's like the play is just OVER and you don't get any points.  This glitch is more frequent than the aforementioned.

    - I feel like the Coverage Challenge is too hard.  The AI makes it nearly impossible to shake a DB if your WR isn't super-good, which makes it really frustrating trying to build players in Franchise Mode.

i also feel like the Lineman Challenge is way too easy.  I regularly get 100,000 points in this challenge, and I never really feel like I'm learning anything.

SIDE NOTE: In Franchise Mode, I'm a little skeptical of the "Train Players" section.  To me, every player is going to work out every week, regardless.  And with younger players, you just can't boost their stats fast enough to make them worthwhile in the game it seems.  I like how they did in NCAA where every week all the players' stats fluctuated based on the prior week's performance and that player's work ethic.  Maybe introduce something where in Franchise Mode you have to run practice plays with all three squads between games, and that would determine the progress a player makes.  Just a thought:)

    ...

I hope this wasn't too wordy!!!  I just really love the Madden experience, and would love to contribute in any way possible!  So thanks guys for making this version so interactive, and if any of my suggestions/ideas sound like something you can run with, more power to you!!!  Thanks again for your continued devotion to fun, fairness and a truly realistic experience.

    Donovan

Hey EA its me again, I just wanted to say how much I love the ideas that I've seen so far and you should keep up the good work. Now to my requests, I would love the Superstar mode to be revised. With the recent events of a Plaxic Burress, Larry Johnson, and Marshawn Lynch incidents that happened during this offseason there should be offseason events and player conduct rules. What I mean is there should be options for the offseason that are non football related. For example Jason Taylor decided to do Dancing with the Stars instead of work out all off season and his play suffered. There should be a risk reward system for player offseasons lets say your a starting Qb and you spend your offseason doing movies and hanging out mean while you competition has been working non stop since the season ended and he gains the upper hand in training camp and your competition wins the starting job and takes the team to the superbowl and has a pro bowl year(have you figured out who I'm talking about) Matt Leinart and Kurt Warner.

Another thing I wanted to talk about is player relation ships and player coach relation ships. Lets say your a great player and you do everything on the football field that you are suppose to but when you lose a game you blame everyone but your self and during games you complain about not getting the ball and how the play call was not right. Your player relation ships should play a part in being an NFL super star because you may not have to be liked but you better be respected. That's where the player coach relation ship comes in to play there are several examples of great player coach relationships that make the team better Drew Brees(who should be madden 10 cover boy WHO DAT DREW DAT!) and Sean Payton, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, Payton Manning and Tony Dungy(he maybe retired but their relation ship was a key reason in the colts success). Player coach relation ships are not all good there are examples of bad ones Michael Vick and Jim Mora Jr, Jeff Garcia and John Gruden, Terrel Ownes(only non qb) and Andy Reid. There should be a system for super star mode that makes Team relationships  key in a great NFL teams. Because its hard to win the superbowl when your star player is ripping his team mates on PTI(shout out to my boys Tony and Wilbon)

Next is Celebrations I really wish you guys at EA can set up something with Xbox and PS3 with a list of celebrations to download, and as the season goes on you add new ones and post for download like if T.O. comes up with a great new celebration you guys do the animation and post it for download. There should also be vintage celebrations like the Dirty Bird, Mile High Salute, and ones like that. To go along with that I wanted to know if it was possible to pick the celebrations before the game and assign to teams, lets say your playing with the Greenbay Packers and your playing the Broncos and you want to select the Mile High Salute to deliver a cheap shot to beef up a game. Ok I know its not the greatest suggestions but I would love to see them in Madden 10 so thank you for reading. :)

JUST A SMALL GRIPE EA, THERE SHOULDN'T BE PLAYERS ON THE SIDELINE WEARING THE SAME JERSEY NUMBER AS SOMEONE ON THE FIELD.  THIS REALLY TAKES AWAY FROM THE REALISM.  PLEASE FIX THAT THIS YEAR.

  • BillTheMac said April 12, 2009

I'm glad to see some of the "Hardcore" Madden players working on ideas and testing Madden 2010. This is a good way to improve and fix things early to have a good out come.

There is a lot of great ideas on these blogs too and I hope EA is considering some of them.

  • GAMMSTER said April 12, 2009

If your going to add refs to the field, does that mean they are gonna start calling penalties like i don't know, maybe for once they can call pass interference or any other penalty besides holding and offside. Also, please explain why you cant incorporate all of head coach into madden franchise. You said in your franchise post that it wasn't going to happen. Please explain why in a post so I can understand.

Also, if your gonna have celebrations please don't have the players go through the stands.

Did you fix that glitch type play when people in a xbox live match take a fast quarterback(young or that one ravens guy) and just run backwards and backwards until a defender decides to stop covering and stands still and throws it to that receiver? I wasn't sure if your earlier post fixed that glitch as well. Also the long bomb throw glitch.(people can master that and have it happen 1/3 of the time.)

P.S  I agree with the other lads. The challenges are not too precise. I have been obviously cheated on a few challenges. But that's just a small part of the game. Im more interested in that franchise and superstar.

  • GAMMSTER said April 12, 2009

I agree with that other lad too. Make the players on the side line look better and add more coaches. Last time I checked there were more then one. Sorry I don't mean to be smug. It's just that I ran out of bounds trying to hit Belichick, because he always wins its not fair, and I ran through him...why cant I send him toppling over the benches. Alright maybe that's to much to ask for but can you at least take a little time to fix this.

usmfan45, I dont know about the owner mode. I thik a better option would be to just move all of Head Coach features to Madden franchise.

Donovan Hill, one thing that caught my eye was the Train Player part. I also thought it was completely useless and ineffective. A rookie in the WR challenge wont be able to beat a top CB on a consistent basis in order to up his stats, and a RB im trying to develop isnt going to beat my starting defense. I think theNCAA training thing woul work. Unfortuately, I dont have too much experience with NCAA Football, but Im getting it in two months for first time.

And to all who want to get their posts heard, try to really think it out. Seperate/section off categories. Think about it like this, Raczilla and others have to read hundreds of comments a day. If it looks like a big, fat paragraph in caps, no one will pay attention to it. If you look on the vid, you will see what Im talking about.

  • Valdarez said April 13, 2009

    @TreyIM2

Again, that's not ground breaking.  That's how good development occurs and how most software is developed. The fact that they are now incorporating sound software development processes is a good thing, but saying it's ground breaking is disingenuous.  If anything, this more highlights the poor project management / requirements gathering of the past.  I just hope it results in a better game, because at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

  • Bee Rockwell said April 13, 2009

    Hey Guys,

Had a thought about Franchise mode. I'm one of the kinds of players who prefers to take a team and reload each off-season through trades and free agency, and every time I'm trying to upgrade at a position, I have to go back through the menus to player management in order to check on a guy's bio, contract, and skills. You should be able to compare prospects side by side within the trade menu, eliminating all the extra searching, and making it easier to see if a running back, with a declining skill set (but still a 99 ranking) at 31 years old is better for your team than a young, up-and-coming back who's cheap, 25 years old, and has more upside.

Also, plenty of us have been clamoring for enhanced pre-and post-game franchise mode highlights and packages, PLEASE deliver a more thorough ESPN integration! NFL 2K5's model for post-game highlights, when updated, would be fantastic.

    Thanks for your consideration.

kinfolkvp they havent yet and i dont think they will this year. Jsmithdk i think it would be great if they could put head coach in too but i still think that franchise should be from an owner stand point where u can fire the head coach and his assistants u know what i mean where u can relocate upgrade your staduim build a new staduim change prices of things ,hint hint ea, where as if u were the head coach u couldnt do any of that.

  • GAMMSTER said April 13, 2009

OHH I agree with that one lad. Compare trade/free agent/draft prospects with the starter you already have at that position.

And by the way, can you fix that trade glitch. All you have to do is sign the top three free agents over and over again and trade them for first round draft picks, then trade the dozen first round draft picks(im serious you can get far over 10) for players because any team will trade any player for 3 first round draft picks. The colts would never trade manning. thank you for you time. Someone please agree with me so I don't sound like a fool.

IN Madden 09, I'm pretty sure every single time I have run the all out blitz play (eight man rush), and I used to use it judiciously (now I don't use it at all) I have given up a long pass. Not once have I sacked the quarterback. I can't recall ever forcing an incomplete pass. I've used several different teams and different circumstances, different downs etc. Not sure why this is, I'm assuming it's in the code. I'm hoping every play in Madden 10 has the potential for different results. I appreciate all the hard work you've done so far and look forward to the new game.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 13, 2009

usmfan45, I see what you're sayng. I thought it should always be like that, hence my request for assistant coaches. I thought that the idea of franchise mode is what it literally is, to control your franchise. Therefore, I'd think we'd be the owner in the offseason, having the power to hire and fire our staff.

Ian you sure you guys didn't just choose the irrelevant comments to display in your video, come on, I think you guys should definately display when a player just ran the entire feild show him taking oxygen on the side-lines afterwards and AGAIN I want to earn my penalties, don't be like the NFL comm. and make the game soft..let me get my unnecessary roughness and you know what would really sell it is when i make a high-light play do a close up of the players face/mouth who makes the big play and allow a lil trash-talking through the mic, basically sync the mic with the high-light animation...no1's touched that aspect of the game azyet (I think)give us a lil more interaction....another thing make the game more engaging, let height, strength, weight, speed, etc make a difference because on madden' 09 only speed makes a difference..and make 4th downs extra hard and not that QB sneak garbage and the kick/punt is too easy, please fix!! i'm from foreign I hope our concerns count as well....change that silly coin toss system and put it back on the field and allow us to engage/interact in a lil animated-synchronized mic trash talk with the team captains another is with the weather if it's raining/snowing give us the option to display it on the screen ( I wanna see the rain drizzling down my eye-shield thingy lol bring out the realism and i'm still for that in-air locating the ball as a WR/CB/FS/SS or anyone who's near the ball and let the player make the speed adjustment for the catch himself...use the RS to locate and the LT to lock onto it..me personally I would like a lil more engagement with my playmakers especially the WRs let me position myself to receive it on whichever should I prefer my thing is once your near the ball allow whomever I swicth to whether it be WR/CB/FS/SS let the user locate the ball 1st before he can make a play on it, if your rating is bad it'd be harder for you to lock onto the ball in-air...just my 2cents. ONCE YOU HAVE THE BALL MAKE IT REAL-LIFE VISION INSTEAD OF ALREADY KNOW WHERE THE TACKLE IS COMING FROM, GIVE US THE OPTION TO LOOK BACK ESPECIALLY WITH THE RBs IF YOUR AHEAD OF THE FIELD AND "ONLY WHEN YOUR AHEAD" THAT SPECIAL EFFECT SHOULD TAKE PLACE FOR WHOMEVER IS AHEAD OF THE FIELD WITH THE BALL THEN YOU'D HAVE TO LOOK BACK TO LOCATE THE TACKLE DEPENDING ON WHO YOUR RUNNING WITH..MADDEN CAN BE SO AWESOME IF YOU GUYS REALLY PUT EFFORT INTO IT, HOPEFULLY FITZGERALD RATING WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS TIME ROUND.

What my priorities would be for this game.

    1) Gameplay - It's a sports sim GAME, I would rather play an accurate NFL game that has single bar facemasks then.... sigh you already know.

    2) Atmosphere - Mainly the presentation of it. Build pre-game, halftime, after game, during the game, and Super Bowl presentation.

    3) Equipment - Though it's last on my list, yes it does make the game look like 2010 instead of the 1990's, still not at the expense of having great gameplay.

GIVE MY COLLEDGE PLAYERS A FACE AND SAY THERE NAME

1)How when you pick a play on the PS3 where you choose like if your playing BLITZ. change it back where you can press x,o,square.

2)FRANCHISE MODE. madden 09 franchise was awful. just use the PS2 version. training camp use to help you during game play i dont think figuring out how to bench does. and when pressing circle the menu goes away and having to press start for it to come back up. while signing a player during free agency it doesnt show you how much money you have in the salary cap.

  • HurricaneT said April 15, 2009

I got to ask a serious question that really need to be put on this new madden. what will happen to your qb rating who you drafted low in the draft then you figure out his rating is like 55 or 60 overall but you still start him and he lead in passing yards and touchdown and he also make the pro bowl and also lead his team to the super bowl. Will his rating the next year increase by a large margin like from 60 overall to 88 overall are will his rating increase the same way like maden 09 60 oerall to like 63 overall if it does increase like madden 09 then that will be real dumb.

My suggestions (From A French Player):

    - Give Us Real Jersey, accessories and helmets for all the teams :(ex:this year white/white and red/red uniforms missed;and wrong helmet for eli manning,)

    - Add in the menu a recap of all stats for all games played on madden

    ex:AVG/RATING;TOTAL TOUCHDOWNS(PASS/RUN);TOTAL INTERCEPTIONS;

    develop the stats.

    - penalise or add a blocking option for online players who played all game long with no huddle,or always with running calls,...STOP THE ANTI-GAMERS!!!!)

    - DEVELOP AI FOR RUNNING BACKS (PETERSON,JACOBS,...are unstoppable in the game!they still gain too much yards VS man blitz!)

    - DEVELOP AN ADAPTIVE RATING FOR ONLINE GAMES!THE RATE COULD BE +/-  FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE HUMAN PLAYERS IF A PLAYER PLAY WELL WITH A QB WITH A BAD RATING BUT GET GOOD STATS THIS ADAPTIVE COULD REUP THE "HUMAN RATING".I PLAY ONLINE AND ALL 3/4 PLAYERS TAKE STEELERS,PATRIOTS,GIANTS,COWBOYS JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE PLAYERS WITH AN HIGHT RATING.TEAM WITH BIG RATING ARE TOO STRONG!!!!

madden 10 will be a good football game like you've all said about 09. madden 10 will take time to make but why every year it seems like it comes out early every year. madden 10 should come out when the pre-season starts. you producers would have time to put even more work in the game then coming out every year too fast.

I BELEIVE YOU MADDEN GUYS SHOULD WORK MORE ON THE FRANCHISE MODE,THE IN GAME PLAY IS OKAY,BUT WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE GAME,WE NEED MORE REALISTIC FRANCHISE OPTIONS AS THE NFL.FROM EA SPORTS RADIO LIKE BRUNO,LOVED THAT,PLEASE BRING IT BACK,AND MAYBE EVEN DRIVE TO PRACTICE,IN A CAR, AND HAVE HOME TO STAY IN,AND OPTIONS FOR YOUR PLAYERS, LIKE HANGING OUT,CLUB ETC.AND CAREER MODE NEEDS TO FEEL LIKE YOU REALLY IN A CAREER ,HAVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS BONUSES,OTHER TEAMS WANT TO GET HIM,BUSINESSES OFFERING DEALS,HOUSES TO BUY,CARS,INVESTMENTS,WHERE WE SEE HIS MONEY INCREASE OR DECREASE,PLEASE REPLY BACK,MY MAIN FOCUS IS MORE FRANCHISE STUFF ,MORE FUN TO PLAY THE SEASON FOR THOSE WHO DONT HAVE ON LINE,BRUNO RADIO WILL BE GREAT,AND CAREER MODE HAS BEEN JUST TO PLAIN IN THE PASS,THE COLLEGE LEGEND WAS GREAT,BUT THE CAREER MODE WAS NOT EXCITING,I DIDNT FEEL LIKE I WAS REALLING PLAYING ,COLLEGE LEGEND PUTS ME IN THE GAME,

My name is Joseph. I'm from georiga, I'm a huge falcons fan  and one of the things I would like to see change in Madden 10 would have to be the QB protection. I understand that in real life the QB doesn't always have alot of time to throw the ball but seems like you can rush the QB untouch to many times without the OL trying to protect.  Also would like to see a new DEF look to madden cause the to stop 90% of the people you have huge amount of zone cause man cov. does not work cause it seems like everything beats the man cov..      Also my email is shadow_706@hotmail.com  would love to rec. insight on my post

the OFF SEASON mode needs to be over hauled making it more like the 2008 playstation 2 version where you actualy scouted your rookies by taking them through various drills. and maybe even bringing back the training camp mode where you can train your players to make them better. and lets not have so many people running in the 4.2 range in the 40 yard dash how about a scale for a players speed some one running a 4.3 to 4.4 speed rating would be 97 to 90 and a 4.5 to 4.6 would be a 89 to 75

CONTRACTS how about stats having alot to do with contracts players receive for intinsts a player rated qb rated 88 overall that threw for 2000 yds 10 tds and 19 ints would not get a bigger contract than a qb with a 72 rating that threw for 4000 yds 30 tds and 9 ints
