If it gives me the ability to put topspin, slice, and touch on the ball (hard / soft) using a REAL tennis stroke.  Then I might actually be buying my first new EA game in since 2005.

I was really stoked for the tennis game, so I went and watched some developer videos at GameSpot.

First, this is NOT the first video game to take into account court surfaces (at least know your competitor's guys).

Second, the game doesn't seem to track that actual stroke you are hitting beyond a simple up / down angle to represent topspin / slice.  In other words, if you play tennis in real life, you won't be able to use real tennis strokes and get any level of accuracy with the amount of spin / slice you put on the ball.

I was pretty stoked for this game, but the footage of how the MotionPlus is working didn't seem all that different from how Wii controllers already play.  And the developers doing little short strokes means it's not emulating true tennis strokes in the slightest.
