Just hours away from the Madden NFL Draft Experience

Posted On: Apr. 25, 2009 8:30 AM EST By: raczilla 23 Comments

We're just a few hours away from the start of the Madden NFL 10 Draft Experience.  Starting at 3:30 p.m. eastern, you'll be able to watch our live broadcast from the EA SPORTS Tiburon studio and see the rookies ratings and screens as they are picked.

Right now we're in the studio getting everything set up.  Even though the broadcast hasn't started, you can see the behind the scenes video feed by going to the Madden NFL 10 Draft Experience site.   We're also posting live updates throughout the day here on the blog and via Twitter, so be sure to follow us there.

I hope you guys are posting evrything you are talking about on this blog for the people who CAN'T INSTALL SILVERLIGHT    *cough* ME *cough*

  • meechie said April 25, 2009

    It doesn't cost.

  • raczilla said April 25, 2009

Silverlight is very quick and easy to install.  May want to clear your cache if you're having issues.

The screens and ratings will be on the page separately, so you will be able to see those no matter what.

This is awesome. I can't wait!

  • Jazz Trance said April 25, 2009

I can't install Silverlight either, but it's because I'm at work and don't have installation privelages. I'm thinking this might be his problem.

  • koolaid251@msn.com said April 25, 2009

I can't wait Jamarcus is going to get some help hoping for Crabtree

  • Dewiel said April 25, 2009

Jazz Trance, it sounds like it has to do with you being at work. Are you trying to download it using IE or Firefox? IE will install automatically, but Firefox requires you to download the program, go to your desktop, click on the program and run it. Once you have done that, you will need to refresh(F5) and you should be good to go.

  • Jazz Trance said April 25, 2009

Thanks Dewiel, but it's not going to work. I need an adminstrator privelage to install anything. When I download the program, I get through the installer, then it brings up a box asking for an admin password. I don't have that, and when I use my own username/password I'm told I don't have privelages.

It's fine though, I will be home by the time the draft starts, so I'll be able to use the draft site.

I think Crabtree should go to the Steelers. That way everyone with a food sounding last name can be on the same team.

  • Dewiel said April 25, 2009

Jazz Trance, gotcha. well, if you have any problems when you get home, just let me know and I'll help you out.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 25, 2009

    What is Silverlight?

  • Jazz Trance said April 25, 2009

Cool Dewiel, I'll hit you up if I have any issues. Thanks

  • Dewiel said April 25, 2009

JSmithDK, Silverlight is a program that you must have installed on your computer to view the draft coverage. Nothing out of the ordinary. Think of it along the lines of Java or Adobe.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 25, 2009

So basically, If I can view the vid, Im good to go?

And guys how would you feel about a "star" rating for draft prospects in the draft? This is how high school players are ranked[5star recruit, 4 star recruit, etc.] I feel like deeming a player a top 5 pick isnt right. If the Lions have a need at QB, DE, OT, they just deem the QB a top 5 pick, without regard ot hte other picks. With the star rating, they could choose from a 5 star QB, a 5 star OT, etc.

Guys, Dewiel, any EA guy, please tell me how good this would be if possible, and if it could be implemented in the game.

    Thanks.

  • Dewiel said April 25, 2009

JSmithDK, if you can see the video, you are good to go.

I will defer the ratings question to Donny Moore since that is his department.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 25, 2009

Thanks Dewiel, first time I ever been told a question will get pushed to the guys.

  • Dewiel said April 25, 2009

JSmithDK, are you on Twitter? If so, send your question directly to Donny. His Twitter name is @DonnyMoore. These guys answer questions on Twitter all the time.

  • xXmEgAtrOnXxDK said April 25, 2009

No, I am not. Ive been having problems using it, but I will try.
