The Rebirth of the Flexbone Offense in NCAA Football 10

Posted On: May. 8, 2009 7:10 AM EST By: raczilla 48 Comments

Hello all, my name is Anthony White and I’m here to share with you all what work we did this year for the Flexbone offense.  Going into our current development cycle for NCAA Football 10 our top playbook priority was making sure our version of the Flexbone offense is a more accurate representation of its real life counterpart.  We didn’t necessarily want to just take what’s already in place on the Gen 2 versions of NCAA Football.   Our goal was to take it above and beyond anything that had been done previously with the Flexbone offense on any platform.

Last summer we were able to acquire the actual coach’s game film of the Navy Flexbone offense.  Having access to this valuable resource really gave us an advantage when it was time to identify what new formations that we needed to create, what plays did we need for those formations, and most importantly what new player animations we needed to mo-cap in order to get those plays working properly in our game.  The results of our efforts produced eight new formations and over 200 new plays.

Here’s a look at the new formations that we created based on our film study.

Flexbone Slit Wing Z

 Flexbone Spit Wing X

Flexbone Close

Flexbone Slot Right

 Flexbone Trips Right

Flexbone Trio Right

 Flexbone Tackle Over

Running Game:

The running attack from this unique offensive system is what it’s most known for, and it’s not all about the triple option.  There are numerous things that can be done with the running game out of the Flexbone.  Some of the new plays that we were able create this year thanks to the new animations include Wingback Toss both weak and strong with a play action pass to compliment it, Midline QB Iso which is a double option scheme where the quarterback can either handoff to the fullback or duck inside the playside B gap following the lead blocks of the two wingbacks, FB and Wingback Load Option plays which also include play action compliments, and the Wingback Jet Sweep.

Those are just a few of the new plays we were able to add for the Flexbone offense, but the most unique one of all we added in my opinion is the Trap Option.  The Trap Option calls for the quarterback to open up to one side of the formation where he then fakes it to the fullback before he pivots and rotates counter clockwise and runs the option in the opposite direction with the backside wingback being his pitch man.  It gets its name Trap Option due to the fact that the backside guard pulls and “trap blocks” the play side defensive end.

This play to the defense starts out looking like our normal Triple Option play to the defense, but it attacks the opposite side of the field instead.  Before we could get this play up and running in game we needed to capture new player animations featuring the quarterback and fullback.  What generally happens is we identify on film what we want and we in turn communicate that to our mo-cap talent so that they can go out and execute what we’re looking for.  It’s very similar to coaching where you introduce a new scheme to your players and during its installation you walk through each of the finer points of the scheme with each player so that he knows exactly what he needs to do within the play.

Here’s the mo-cap video of the quarterback and fullback carrying out the first phase of the Flexbone Trap option play.

Here’s that same animation in NCAA Football 2010.

Passing Game:

Much attention was also paid to the passing game portion of the Flexbone offense.  When you open up the playbook you’ll notice that most of the running plays have some sort of play action compliment that starts out looking like that run play.  Many of these new plays are a both your more traditional play action passes along with the option passes.  One of the new pass plays are PA Switch in which the outside receiver runs a post route and the wingback to the side runs a wheel route up the sidelines.  This is a common scheme in the Flexbone offense.

We also wanted to bring some new fresh ideas to the drop back passing portion of the Flexbone offense.  As many of you know this style of offense has the reputation of being a bad offense to run when you’re trailing in the game and need to throw the ball.  Some of the new passing plays we added actually take a page from the Run & Shoot offense.  Two run & shoot pass concepts we added are “60 Go” and “60 Choice”.  In these two plays the left wingback goes in motion to the right slot which forms a trips alignment.  On 60 Go the outside receiver on the now trips side runs a streak route, the motion wingback runs an option route where he can take it to the post or he can go straight up field, and the right wingback runs to the flat.  The goal is to read the curl/flat defender.  If he jumps the flat route, the quarterback should be able to make a quick throw to the option route, if said defender jumps the option route, then the quarterback makes a quick throw to the flat.

We also included Four Verticals and WR Middle Screen out of Flexbone Trips Right, Left, and Trio Right.  The goal of any offense is to be balanced and that holds true with this style of offense.  If you’re playing with one of the Flexbone offense playbooks and your opponent is loading up to stop the run, you’ll have a multitude of viable passing plays at your disposal to keep your opponent honest.

Playbooks:

The team playbooks that feature the Flexbone offense prominently are Army, Georgia Tech, and Navy.  Air Force also has multiple Flexbone formations in their playbook along with other more traditional formations.  Here’s a look at the formations and sets that make up our Flexbone playbooks.

Even the Goal Line formation for Army, Georgia Tech, and Navy Is a Flexbone formation.

It was fun seeing the Flexbone offense through the design phase from concept to its implementation into the game. There's a perception right or wrong that we can just draw up a play and it magically appears in game working the same as it does in real life. There's a lot of planning that goes on amongst the design staff, software engineers, animators, and mo-cap talent to make it all work.  It’s our hope that you guys will enjoy what we now have to offer with the Flexbone offense in NCAA Football 10.

you should make a few of the games region 2, so i can play it in the UK!!!!

  • MAXIMUS205 said May 08, 2009

It will be nice to be able to run this efficiently this year. Only thing missing is the juke up the field that the qb does when he keeps the ball like in Last gen. Add that and you have a real option going. Other than that great job.

  • MAXIMUS205 said May 08, 2009

Also when I ran a option pass there was a delay when bringing the pass screen up which got me sacked a lot. Has that been addressed? Its also good to see the tradional flexbone teams sticking to there playbook on the goaline. Nice touch.

  • RamblinWreckX said May 08, 2009

I think that using Georgia Tech (my school) will actually be fun and competitive online this year. I also like that the a-backs and b-backs appear a lot faster than last year as well.

  • BoMajor said May 08, 2009

Very good news. I'd love to see a generic offensive package that includes some vintage formations such as the single wing, including the "Notre Dame Box" version, double wing & the wing t.

  • GopherDuece said May 08, 2009

As Maximus said, the option pass has been terrible for a long time. Please make it easier to bring up the pass icons so you don't end up with a sack.

...and for the love of God, please let us know what the Gophers stadium that is in the game will look like.

  • Puddy40 said May 08, 2009

Some other plays to implement into the flexbone, that used to be in last gen games, would be the wb counter.  The 1 back goes into back motion (just like triple option), the qb opens up toward the motion, but spins back to give it to the 2 back on an inside give.  The onside tackle traps and the fullback fills for the tackle.

Another play would be the WB power, where the fullback leads and the guard pulls, and it's a handoff out of flexbone, not a pitch (even though both would work).

These game looks amazing.  I have bought every madden and ncaa since i can remember, so keep up the good work.

  • shutdown_DB said May 08, 2009

    Raczilla,

I was an upback in this system at Missouri State in '91. In this system, the upbacks an OT look to cut block the defenders to create lanes. We looked forward to film day to see defenders legs flying in the air (like the low-tackle animation that's used in '08 &'09). Will the game follow the same logic and could you flip that tackle animation to the offensive side as a cut block?

It would add realism to these offensive schemes and extend the O/D interaction beyond the line to the outermost players on the field.

      *Dependent on player ratings

         -  Def ability to counter cuts via shed, etc...

    Player Interaction:

More players need to be hitting the ground, especially on runs and less WWE wrestling animations across the field.

*Add crack-backs to the game and watch the excitement explode!

Might be too late to do this:

Have you guys thought about having guys of diff ht,wt & skill doing the Mo-Caps for each position? A guy that played before; a guy that has never played; a small and large guy from the office.  It would accentuate player varitation within your 0-99 ratings scale for each position.

    Example:

    QB's

In Throwing motions, hand-offs, play action, option, etc...

    RB's

Taking hand-offs,pitches & catches, cutting and change of direction, jumping over obtacles (simulating players on the ground)

    WR's

    Routes,*Catching [hands,chest,stomach]

    Off/Def blocking

Small guy trying to block big guy [simulating Def push]

Big guy blocking small guy [simulating Off drive]

and so on with other positions.

Maybe the community could add some feedback to the thought.

I know it's easy to come up with ideas without understanding the difficulties of writing and coding the thought to actual gameplay. So thanks for all the long hours you guys are putting into the game.

  • buffalopride85 said May 08, 2009

looks good, but too fast, was it on fast forward?

  • ronnymund said May 08, 2009

Rac, when the qb starts to run out of the flex bone he carries the football in both hands before pitching the pigskin to the half back.  The Qb animation that is used in this sequence is the same animation that I would love to see in Madden 10 when a skilled corner back or return man first starts to run with the football during an interception or punt return.  The two hand ball carry is an animation that is seen through out the NFL

  • EjCraze said May 08, 2009

@Shutdown_DB made some good points about the blocking, catching, & hand-offs. That's a good idea.

@buffalopride85 Its not too fast at all. Its called game speed. In real life all these players run 40 yards in less then 5 seconds. You must be used to madden where the gameplay is slow. I hate that about madden. I want the game speed to be real life like. You have a split second to make a decision when you're on the field and the game should be the same way.

I can't wait to run this offense with 3 good backs and a scrambling QB!

  • BBMerritt5 said May 08, 2009

You guys need to add some more plays for the wildcat in ncaa, i love using it but theres only 8 plays

  • BleedBlueBlood said May 08, 2009

This is great!  I fell in love with last years game and I'm so pumped about 2010!  Keep up the great work fellas.

P.S. I hope you guys fixed the online dynasty issues though...

  • AUtigers13 said May 08, 2009

YES!!! Im so happy about this fix. I am a huge Georgia Tech fan and i use them in every dynasty and every time i play online. I have gotten pretty good with the option and i absolutely love it!

  • c burn89 said May 08, 2009

One thing, in the first video it looks as if the quarterback is about to dive. He starts the dive animation then seems to decide better and switches into a slide animation.  Hopefully slides wont look like this when the game is finished becuase it appears to be an unrealistic and choppy scene.  Otherwise good work on spending so much time researching the offense and trying to make this game as realistic as possible.  Hopefully Sam Keller doesnt win his class action.

  • QUiiCkN3zZ said May 08, 2009

can i get a wildcat or wildcat package

  • utahman19 said May 08, 2009

Please tell me that you designers realize that in the first two formations (twins over and slit wing z) the inside receivers (WR#8 and TE#36) are ineligible on passing plays due to being covered on the line of scrimmage.

  • LGeezy35 said May 09, 2009

I am really looking forward to get this Gm in my hands as soon as possible.

Been playin Ncaa Football for over 10years str8 now.

Lots a great stuff been removed and never came back.

I remember when u had a feature called CUSTOM PLAYBOOK where u put ur own formations together i really miss that one hard!!!

What happend to the FORMATION SUBS???

Why shouldt we be able to put the fastest guys on Special Teams?

Thats kinda sad cause it was already in the Gm and been removed

I dont kno nothing about the team builder..and i really dont care about it cause the hardcore players care about details and finesse thats all.

The team builder is just a waist of time in my oppinion just like the mascot Gm we dont need it in the gm.

Put CUSTOM PLAYBOOK,FORMATION SUBS and CREATE UR OWN PLAYS back in the gm and it will be fine

Yall worried about the stadiums and the helmets and over a 100 stripes and that kind a stuff. We dont need that!

  • QUiiCkN3zZ said May 09, 2009

Ur crazy LGeezy35 team builder is going to be cool. Just because ur a so called '' HARDCORE PLAYER '' and u dont want team builder in the game doesn't mean everyone else does'nt want team builder either, its going to be cool and it shouldn't have been removed since it released on the so called '' NEXT GEN '' consoles but i aggree that they should bring back custom playbooks and formation subs.

  • cockymania said May 09, 2009

Why spend so much time and effort on a formation that is only used by 3 major teams?  Wouldn't it make more sense to add/improve the basic I formation or the spread offense?  Just wondering.  Also, it would be great if you could create your own playbook.   Then you could add the 'flexbone' to your list along with other formations such as shotgun, pistol, etc. etc.

  • QUiiCkN3zZ said May 09, 2009

    1. im going to keep stressing this issue, in ncaa 09 make the height and weight mean something, in ncaa 09 dynasty mode i see these 6'2 181 pound running back that get recruited with five stars with 95 trucking Ea WTF is this BS and not to mention his 80 strength wow EA shouldn't he be a WR not a running back LoL this is sad. Make the game realistic and dont randomize attributes for those recruites that come in if a guy is small make his attributes reflect on his size because when u transport these guys to madden it just screws up the whole game and i hope u guys realize that.

    2. plz EA this is my wish, can u guys make a option for incoming freshman to gain weight because its ridiculous EA a 6'0 160 pound WR i recruited was a 5 star and his weight never changed from his freshman to his senior year in college C'mon EA 4 real this is so fake EA and it srcews up the fun when u export these guys to madden. On madden im in year 15 and the league is full of guys that are below 200 pounds far as skill positions, RB 6'1 185, WR 6'3 177, QB 6'5 180, and very ugly to see that there wasn't no effort in this aspect of the game.

    3. i want to see most recruits that are ATH because thats how it is now days, most people that get recruited get recruited to play multiple positions example a guy is a RB and Saftey in high school, have multiple schools contact him to play multiple position like RB, WR, LB, SS, FS and etc. Give over half of recruits in the recruiting class  that  a option to play offense or Defense when they come to college, dont just give them offense rating and no defensive rating or vise versal.

4.if a guy plays good can their stats take dramatic increase for example, if i have a junior cornerback 6'1 195 pounds and its his first year starting and his overall is 75 and his junior season he has 8 interceptions with 48 tackles and 3 sacks, and he make the first team all american team, and wins the thorpe award for best DB his overall should take a major     rise to like 90+ or more which can give him a option to stay in college for one more year or just go pro if he is projected to be a high nfl pick in the draft.

I think this should be fixed because i had a corner back that i started since he was a freshman, he was 6'4 177 pounds and he was a freak that can fly around the ball but his overall was 72 when he came in and he made 1st team all american and thorpe award winner for 4 years straight and at the end of his senior season his overall was only at 81 dispite all the production he did for us and help build my baylor program and i couldn't even draft him to madden 09 because he wasn't even in my draft class package from madden and thats why i hope this new player progression thing goes good in ncaa 10 because in ncaa 09 good productive player never gets a good boost to the overall and then i cant draft them.

    5. I think they should put all the seniors and all the player who declare early before their senior seasons in the ncaa draft class to import to madden not just the top 20 in each position.

  • warrior310 said May 09, 2009

cockymania not trying to argue but if the formation exist shouldn't it be included?

  • warrior310 said May 09, 2009

oh yea and it doesn't matter how many teams use it.

  • QUiiCkN3zZ said May 09, 2009

yeah warriors right cockymania, but they are probrably saving the good stuff 4 us later, so hold ur horses and wait to a new post comes or wait to the game comes out

  • QUiiCkN3zZ said May 09, 2009

I run the 3-4 and i hate 2 see when i kick out my DT to DE their overall goes down by 15-20 points and same with my DE when i kick them out to LB their overall drop significantly also.

I think instead of DE and DT overall they should just have a DL overall so u can be placed in a system were u can fit with out overall deduction

And they should have DE that can be labeled Hybrids that can play outside LB in a 3-4 scheme.

  • blindbud said May 10, 2009

Quiick, I like your ideas on the progression and the points. I read somewhere on the site they worked on that. I agree we need more freedom in placing our players and not getting penalized for it by losing so many points. Why should someone be slower, weaker,... cuz they changed positions? And I would LOVE to recruit hybrids. That is what the draft is becoming all about.

  • squirdle said May 10, 2009

ANTARCTIC MONKEY - If you are on PS3, games are region free. Bought NCAA09 from an ebay shop in Calif last year (big ups to alternative_dvd) much cheaper than buying the game in England if it had been released here.

Question: will the officials be 'in the game' this year, as they will be in Madden?

  • SliCk_BoY13 said May 10, 2009

Yes a very good point because when the qb runs with the ball you cant do all the jukes the rb or the wr do and i also believe that they should make a ncaa football where you can use colleges around the globe that would be interesting to play maybe not all of you feel the same way but i would not mind seing if the euro colleges can take on usc or pitt or even THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES! thats just my two cents

  • Murkfest said May 10, 2009

    OSU sucks donkey dong

  • IRON BrAwLeR said May 10, 2009

This kind of stupid stuff scares me.  Have any of you designers watched a georgia tech game?  The motion that they run is a straight line to the point where they need to be when the ball is snapped, not a loop likes it shown.  If you really put all this time in and still have the motion looking like poop then that's embarrassing

  • gatorfanatic said May 10, 2009

so does this mean that all of the playbooks have been updated or is it just the flexbone....And to make the videos do the actual offense justice you've should of added a defense to the video's to show how the blocking scheme is going to work with the new and improved OL/DL interactions.....But good to see that you're working on the playbooks because they needed to be updated and improved...........

  • tommybrock said May 10, 2009

is there a wildcat yet? other then the 5 or 6 plays in the florida playbook. cause it would be sick to see more of that in ncaa

  • john5153 said May 10, 2009

quickn3zz had some good ideas.. respect him because its obivious he aint read up on all the latest update but still hit on some ideas that they  put in... i wish they would fix more things that have to do with MADDEN... but for that reason they probably wont... most of the aspects that affect madden are not great.... (size speed etc...)

  • kingky82 said May 10, 2009

LGeezy35, Team builder puts you in the driver seat. You are the coaches, the A.D., everything. You put your stamp on your program. Your able to build a program to the strengths of what you believe would win games. Its impossible to put Team Builder in the same sentence as mascot game when speaking of features to get rid of. I agree mascot game is arcade and needs to be nixed. Team builder is all done via internet, its not a feature on the disc.

All I have to say to EA is,

    CROWD, CROWD, CROWD AUTHENTICITY, and

More hair styles/and or gear and accessories.

  • Mondo716 said May 11, 2009

Im no marketing genius, but as soon as the NFL draft happened I know a lot of people that gave up on madden until the next release.  I also know tons of people that would love to get into NCAA football but see it as a waste of $60 just to play if for 30 days till madden comes out.  If this game was able to drop early to mid May, the sales would probably be doubled.  Me and all the other EA football nuts a chompin at the bit waiting for some fresh challenges and more importantly some new football.  signing day is in February, that gives you ample time to generate the incoming class effectively, you would just have to pick one year to have the full game development done in 2months less time, then from there on you could effectively release a product that would sell more because of the timing, and only one year of the game title would have to suffer (very little though), then you could get back on to having the same allotted creating time as usual.

  • LGeezy35 said May 11, 2009

I am not saying anything about Team Builder and it might be a great feature but for me its just nothing special.

I am just praying that Ncaa stays Ncaa to the fullest cause Madden sucks big time its more like an arcarde gm and str8 up junk.

CUSTOM PLAYBOOK FORMATION SUBS PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bill ThePlumber said May 11, 2009

It's nice to see some wingback running plays, BUT the most important thing that this formation needs is real blocking assignments for the designated running plays. In this case, all option plays need to have the unblocked defender to read to allow an offense like the flexbone, wishbone, or any other option based offense to even be effective with said option. THAT! .......EA.......is what's been missing for a LONG LONG time in the college football game you've produced even though we are in the nth' installment on this platform. It's about time to have realistic blocking and defending logic in this game. Hopefully that's what's been going on............and if that's the case then good job

  • macis07 said May 12, 2009

Can't wait for NCAA 10 to drop but for next year, can you include these features...

    1.  In Dynasty, when the season is over, have a draft grade for those who are looking to go pro or the senior players with A, B, C, D, or F (like if a 3rd yr soph or a junior has a grade of A or B, most likely you won't convince him to come back.  also, if he has a C or D grade, then he is most likely to come back)  also, have a senior pro day so those with low OVR's that are seniors get a chance to improve their grades.

    2.  Have more seniors and draft prospects get into the imported roster for madden especially at more of the o-line and d-line, Safety, K, P, FB, Etc.  Take more stats and abilities into the process as a factor as oppose to just having a high overall.  (i hate when i have a player who started off as a 75 OVR, i have him for 4 years and he wins the heisman atleast once, broke most of the school's records, and still grads with a overall of 82 and still done't make it to import list)

    3.  for the love of God, please have the D-1 AA, D-2, and D-3 schools in the Game!!!!  how come the current gen has them but not PS3 or 360?  take out them FCS teams!!!!  make sure they have some players come into the imported draft roster as well.  (App state and some HBCU's have had numerous players make it into the combine and the draft for several years)

    4.  Have a dynasty mode to were you can not only coach the big programs but also have a career mode to were you start by building up a small program (D-1 AA, D-2, or D-3) and then work your way up to a big program.

  • mr_west25 said May 12, 2009

First off it seems like you guys are trying to upgrade the gameplay which I say thank you to. I'm liking what I see in Team Builder and seeing as my school runs the flexbone offense im liking the improvement in that area.  I would like to agree with people about the blocking schemes that is whats the most important part of the flexbone so please touch that up. Also I agree with the suggestions on player progression but i have read the blogs and seen that you guys worked that out.  Now aside from improvement on the little nix in the gameplay i would like to see a broader variety of equipment.  including more helmets, more facemasks, more cleats, back plate wearing options, i would like more appearance selection.  Basically we need more options o make the players on the field look more unique.  We have to many look a likes in real college football no two people look identical. IN other wors, allow us to give our players some SWAG!  For help go back and look at some star players pictures from last season, KNowshon moreno, percy harvin, macho harris, tyrod taylor, etc.

  • stagerunner said May 13, 2009

How about a true no huddle offense?  UCONN is now going no huddle.  That means there are a lot of schools going no huddle hurry up.  Too many to name, so has EA come up with a plan?  How about allowing every route to be called as a hot route?  Or take the current audible function and let the player assign multiple plays to a button but if we press it twice, three, four, five, etc, we get another play ever time.

  • wurzy12 said May 16, 2009

This new formation is the kind of detail that NCAA 09 needs with the developing versatility of college football. However, I would request that a few other things be added to the playbooks.

    1) FORMATION SUBS!! - This was such a great part of the old ps2 games and I really hope it is brought back. It allows you to put your playmakers in certain spots to be in position for certain plays on offense. Please bring this back.

    2) A newly deloping screen pass in college football involved the quarterback dropping back, the o-line allows the d-line to come through, the running back takes a couple steps towards the line of scrimmage and then turns around and the quarterback pitches it to him. This is going to be a developing play in college football because it's really effective and it would be nice to see this in 10'.

Thanks to all of y'all and i'm looking foward to 10'.

  • option_of_doom36 said May 30, 2009

You have know clue how much I freaking love you all right now.  =)

Heads up PSN, the flexbone is coming for you!

And to Bill's post earlier about not having a defender to read, due to the way the AI works, the defensive end is usually blocked in or out, so you can cut up or around, if you go around you usually end up reading the OLB for the pitch or cut.  I know it's not the same, but hey, if it works, it works.

Another thing I was curious as to, I heard that the tackle breaking system for 10 is going to be similar to Madden 09's?  Can I get verification on that?

  • cOrPoRaL06 said June 02, 2009

I don't know about those formations being illegal. A lot of wing formations have unbalanced lines.

I'm really pleased to see such a focus on the flexbone offense. I'm a huge fan of running the ball and like to take the will of the opponent away (not to mention aggravating them) by inching the game out.

That being said, this same kind of work and research needs to go into the other formations -- especially the spread offense. It's all the rage these days ... along with that needs to be the inclusion of a no huddle offense (as mentioned above). Utah and Florida no huddled Alabama to death in the SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl. It's extremely effective when used correctly.

Let's face it -- how big of a deal has the Wildcat offense been in the college game since McFadden left Arkansas? Nutt moved to Ole Miss and he now calls it the Wild Rebel formation. You can bet that Ole Miss will have this formation and there really isn't a ton of plays that are ran out of the formation so 8-10 plays is about right. I can't think of any teams that use it other than Houston Nutt's team. The spread game should really get a big facelift.

  • BK93 said June 29, 2009

    utahman19,

You are correct, the players in those formations are ineligible. This is done for two reasons. One, it generally gives your A-Back a lot of unimpeded space to run to the opposite side from the receivers as the CBs are on the other side now. Second, it tricks the defender (CB) into covering a receiver who isn’t allowed to catch a 'forward' pass, thereby removing the CB out of the play without having to block him necessarily.

If the game is accurate, you will see that the ineligible wideout will have a blocking/fake run assignment rather than a real forward pass route. The formation is completely legal, as long as the eligibility rules are understood and adhered to.

If one formation needed working it was the Wild Rebel.  The number of plays were fine, but it didn't work worth a crap most of the time.  You couldn't even put Jevan Snead out wide despite the fact one of the variations said "QB Wideout."  It was pathetic.

I wish that Ea Sports really study the form of any option offense. The option on the next generation console is so unrealistic. The qb pitches the ball without looking at the rb or intended ball carrier. The on PS2 and xbox the option is perfect. The pitchman stays with the qb after he crosses the line of scrimage. On PS3 the pitchman stops running with qb after he crosses the line and thats so fake EA SPORTS. The option passes never work on none of all of the EA SPORTS NCAA Franchises. By the time qb finishes the option fake the QB is Sacked or WR's and TE's quit on the routes. EA Sports where is the jab steps as the qb chooses to pitch or keep the football. Come on EA lets get right. $60.00 and still no improvement in one of the best offenses that is used in the college game.
