FIFA 09 Ultimate Team - Free Coins for Faithful

I’m excited to be able to announce our plans to reward some of the early adopters of FIFA 09 Ultimate Team (aka "FUT") – we’ve had the plan in the works for a good time internally and it’s great to finally get the word out now.  As a quick intro as to who I am – I’ve been at EA for almost five years and most recently had the pleasure of working on FIFA 09 Ultimate Team with a great group of talented people.  Since the launch of FUT I’ve been working with the Football Live Team, which is an internal team at EA SPORTS™   put together to support our FIFA online products. It was an exciting day when we launched the game, but it quickly turned in to the busiest three weeks of around the clock work.  As some of you are probably aware, the launch of FUT was immensely popular with our FIFA fans, and because of this it challenged our server capacity for the first three weeks.  That was unfortunate for our consumers and we want to make it up to you. 

Now the day has come where we want to say thanks to all the FUT early adopters for their patience and feedback during those first three weeks.  To that end, every fan who purchased Ultimate Team before April 10th will receive 10,000 coins (equivalent to two gold packs).  For every fan who tried FUT but didn’t buy it prior to April 10th, they will receive 5,000 coins (equivalent to one gold pack).  In reality, you can choose whatever you wish to do with these new coins: go pick up that rare player on the trade pile, make a more beefy trade offer, or buy a few packs and roll the dice on getting some awesome players!  Starting on May 15th coins will begin getting distributed automatically to all eligible users.  If eligible, all you need to do is log on to FIFA 09 Ultimate Team after this date and you’ll notice your coin balance has increased accordingly!

    that is great news and i really appreciate this. However, you guys have been tuning the server side for months now and its been getting a lot better but how about some info on a client side patch ?.

    Is there a patch in the making ? (let people know cause hope is a good motivator).

    Serious bugs or glitches like the custom tactics glitch, the stats masking issue, lack of filter options on the trading screen (club info anyone ? go and try to find a torino club batch or away shirt. I challenge you ;) etc .. can really bum one out. Anyway, im sure you all know about the open issues.

    anyway, thanks for the points! but remember I gladly trade my 10.000 coins in for a client side patch :)

    Thank you for the gift. Howerver i want to ask you for more filter options looking for a player. It would be highly appreciated if i could look for the player rates.

    Im just commenting because i would have had UT before the 10th but it wouldnt fully download for a few weeks and when it did work i had problems like everyone else bit i think im going to miss out on this! very dissapointed as all who had problems with it should be compensated like this!!

    That is great.  Thanks for thinking in ways to compensate for the frustration of having the other guy thinking you chickened out of a game when in fact it just stalled.

    It's a great mod.  I enjoyed it a lot when you made it available on Champions League.  It was something i missed on the last two editions of FIFA.  

    I have only one suggestion.  Could you add some advanced filters?  I spent an hour two days ago just to find a team badge.  Scrolling through over 3000 cards where there were stadiums, badges and uniforms from all leagues to find a badge and then finding out after an hour than you don't have enough coins to buy it is so frustrating!

    And please, adjust the price filter.  It would be nice to find cards that can be bought immediately for the amount i just tried to filter.  Right now it does not.

    Can someone please explain why my stats have disappeared. I was 5th at one point in online tournament and usually win 9 out of 10 online league matches. I have over 15000 skill points and 600 games notched up, yet very frustratingly, my stats are not showing. Please help!! as its becoming pointless, also ive spent £100 of my own money, which is bittersweet at the moment. Please advise. reg1476@yahoo.co.uk

    This is wicked. Me and my son been trying really hard to earn coins. We've been doing well and getting there. Really pleased today to find 10k in our banks!!!! Thanks so much. I've been able to get Gerrard and my son's been able to compleate his all french gold team. Looking forwarard to more suprises :)

    I got the demo before april 10 but becaquse my connection to internet was down i could not ever buy it so i bought it when my internet was back.  Do i still get the ten thosand coins?

    i purchased FUT on the 22/03/09 but i have not recieved my 10,000 coins could anyone please explain why this is? i have only recently discover that i am eligable but has now been 9 days since they have been sent out.

    It is the 10th of June but I hope I can qualify for 5,000 coins.

    What I hate most is when you play all those games to get a gold pack and the pack is rubbish. lol

    I Bought my FUT the second day it came out but i didnt recieve or here about 10,000 free points, please help?
