When is Madden coming out on the iphone?

  • sconn1 said August 14, 2009

the one thing i don't see mentioned (nor did i see it mentioned anytime before) is that Online Franchise costs 10 bucks more...it's an add on ya have to buy.

  • uea-isaripoff said August 14, 2009

yeah CHECK OUT THE POSTS THAT IS A RIPOFF ESP IF YOU HAVE  COUPLE OF KIDS AND YU CANNOT PLAY A FRANCHISE TOGETHER AND REALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE WEBSITE BS ! DID THEY NOT GET ENOUGH PROFITS OVER THE YEARS FROM THIS !! SEEMS LIKE THEY TAKE AFTER THE BANKERS!!!

  • uea-isaripoff said August 14, 2009

    AFRAID TO POST THE TRUTH??

  • TreyIM2 said August 14, 2009

There is a code on the back of the Madden 10 booklet for the DLC so you trolls like sconn1, uea-isairipoff need to get your facts straight and just stop the hate, for real. It's the same deal as Live 09 and the 365 codes. Buy the game, u get the code and it's free. Rent the game or buy it used or off someone who has already used the code, you gotta pat $10 for the DLC.

  • jayjump004 said August 14, 2009

Trey you have dropped some knowledge on the Haters of online franchise. Good looking cuz those chumps were swaying my judgement with their misinformation. I will check for that free code when I pick up the game tonight.

  • usmfan45 said August 14, 2009

Hey guys, I love the game might be the best I ever had lol,but what is with all the turnovers.

  • CyberRudy25 said August 14, 2009

how do you get Michael vick, is there a roster update?

  • usmfan45 said August 14, 2009

IDK I was wondering that myself.

  • bfreecloud said August 14, 2009

don't worry about Vick in the game. worry about how you get all the crap out.

it's another recycled madden game, just a bit better graphics and animations. EA stuck it to us again!

why can't you guys just make a realistic nfl game?  why can't you do it right? EA should have replaced all of you untalented, brainless designers and programmers with the nfl 2k team years ago.

i got nfl sunday ticket. i go to all the games. i love the nfl. but this game is the poorest representation of the nfl since magnetic football. true nfl fans don't care if you keep making the same old crap. just give some other game company a crack at make an nfl game as well.

one last thing- Tom Hammond???  are you morons serious? are you deaf and dumb?  this fossil has as much personality as a traffic light.  how freakin, god awful annoying!

  • TreyIM2 said August 14, 2009

CyberRudy - The second roster update on the 19th will have Vick. There is currently an update but he's not in this one.

  • paulcantone@yahoo.com said August 14, 2009

I entered the game access code on-line and can't figure out the next step to get a franchise started.  This is my favorite part of the game, it kinda sucks that it is hidden.

i'll second to that bro,the eagles gonna be my team online.

  • lmount said August 14, 2009

It seems as if you can't change the background to your favorite team now. Your stuck looking at the Steelers and the Cardnials all day.

  • IrwinRFletcher said August 14, 2009

This game would be great BUT the online ranked games are a freaking joke.  This crap with the accelerated clock must go.  Three possesions in an entire football is far from realistic EA.  I'm am so annoyed by this flaw.  This could very easily be the BIGGEST FLAW EVER in any version of madden.  Fix it or you will lose a lot of Madden Fans.  And also fix the problem of two people talking at once.  As if collinsworth isnt annoying enough as it is now him and Madden talk at the same time while you are picking plays.

  • DJK said August 15, 2009

I'm to sponsor live Madden Tournaments. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get up to 16 players using 4 consoles in a multi-player mode like you can with Halo and C.O.F.4?

  • slydelvecio said August 15, 2009

I'm not that big of a fan of the game cuz I like defense more which i think really suffered in this version. Before everyone calls me a hater I have reasons for being disappointed that were supposedly going to be fixed. First of all the zone defense is just horrible over the middle, they don't get in front of wrs when it is an obvious pass there. The cpu computer still has godlike abilities, and the time the cpu has in the pocket, no matter what blitzes you call is unreal. While the cpu can get to your qb right away. The runblocking is still broken on outside rushes (which we were told was fixed). the blockers don't head upfield to continue to block the secondary, and will ignore players on outside runs (especially in the wildcat). Problems with the wildcat (I know its early but these should be fixed with an update) : 1. You can't put a qb in at the wildcat position, why not use vince young, pat white, etc. in the wildcat.

    2. you can not scramble on a pass play in the wildcat formation.

    3. when you pass to the qb behind the rb, the qb is not able to throw the ball afterwards

I hope these things are fixed in an update, that would make the game a lot better imo, cuz right now i'm not that big a fan

  • warrior310 said August 15, 2009

this game is good, idk whats up with you cry babies but stfu.

the game aint perfect but accept the good with the bad,if you dont, sell the game back.

i hate when the D does legsweeps with their arms and i just fall easily.but see,ill accept that because i cant change it and then again, ill get over it.

the halftime show needs work but its not that bad.it needs more life to it.

they made good attempts but they need to do it right.their new motto should be,"if we are going to do something,do it right."

madden 11 will be my last madden if its not better,i like madden 10 but i need to love it,lol.

    i rate madden 10 an 8 out of 10.

So far I love the game. It looks like you guys removed all the cheese and fixed man coverage which is amazing. This is a step in the right direction. When I got online and could change my uniform I forgot how much I missed this feature. I requested this in previous posts and it's awesome to see that you guys are listening. Keep up the good work, keep out the cheese, and thanks for including those links up top.

  • warrior310 said August 15, 2009

i made a vid for 1 thing they should fix.

i played franchise with the bucs and i changed my team to the orlando sharks.my team made it to the superbowl and they still have the bucs endzone and the jersey has no superbowl patch.

you guys need to fix the things with the created teams as well.

now for the vid,the WR spun around and missed the block so the other guy can tackle me when i know i had the TD.

BTW,my voice is not that deep as to how it sounds on the vid.

  • swillz13 said August 15, 2009

i really liked the game. the only thing i found weird was the commentating. i was using the eagles and i threw a td pass to cornelius ingram. and for some reason the called him antonio gates and than started talking about antonio gates. other than that i really enjoyed the game. u guys did a really good job on it.

  • swillz13 said August 15, 2009

ohh yeah and one more thing. i was a little dissapointed by the create a team. i thought u guys would have fix that. but whatever maybe next year.

p.s. what happened to the qbs cadence u change the voices it doesn't sould like McNabb anymore.

  • farock2unes said August 15, 2009

ok why the extra point highlight show does not show actual highlights....no tv based sports show in history comes on without showing actual footage of what going on.......please fix that asap PLEASE.......

  • swillz13 said August 15, 2009

one thing that bothered me and i hope u guys fix it. is that when ur editing a guy the visors look normal, but when u play a game they look weird. other than that the game plays great so far. im really enjoying it so far. but i want to know why we can't personalize the main menu and the profile like in the old ones??

  • cartman041388 said August 16, 2009

This is the best madden to date.  The only problem I have is the accelerated clock.  It doesn't allow much time for shifts/audibles.  Tone the accelerated clock down to 5 or 10 seconds, not 15 for online ranked games or just turn it off.  If you keep it on, lengthen the quarters to at least 7 minutes.  Also, holding gets called way too much on field goals.  Other than that, keep up the good work EA!

  • Twister1074 said August 16, 2009

First, I want to take the opportunity to praise you on all work you have achieved in the last ten years.  Your accomplishments have been delightful and have made its mark in the video game industry.  With that being said, despite your improvements in the recent decade I feel the need to elaborate on features you might want to consider for the future.

Let me reassure you that I do not possess a programming degree nor do I hold a degree in the field suitable for the video game industry.  Even though this does limit my creditability for suggesting how to make a perfect football game, I do have other qualities that may appeal to your interest.  For starters, I have played every single installment of the Madden and NCAA series.  Furthermore, for over ten years of my life I was involved with playing real football.  This may be hard to prove but I will let my experience hopefully speak for itself.

    THE POSITIVE REMARKS:

    - Presentation. You made a valid attempt at creating a simulated broadcast in the game.

    - Online Franchise Mode. Every fan I've come across absolutely loves this feature.  This mode will extend my playing time for months.

    - Graphics.  New lightning and player modeling look incredible.  The camera focus is superb.

    - Menu Layout.  Many people and myself like the simple menu layout.

    - Referees.  Glad to see the referees on the field making the calls.  A wonderful and overdue addition.

    - Game Speed.  I do appreciate the slower game speed.  This new feature gives me more time to make better reads on the field.  For those who do not like this option, remember you can always adjust it.

    - Pro-Trac.  Completely alters the way you approach to running the ball and tackling defenders.  A great addition and one that should be a staple of future madden titles.

    - Fight for Fumbles.  Contrary to popular belief I do prefer the fight for fumble feature.  This event adds a new element to the game.

    - Co-op Play.  Finally, I'm able to play with a friend on the same team.

    - Injury Impacts.  I absolutely love the injury aspect of the game.  From the cut scenes, to the stragey, all of it works very well.  Two thumps way up for this feature.

    - Weather Effects.  The rain and snow particles on the camera is a nice touch.  Watching players slip during rain/snow games is fluid and fun to watch.

    - QB/Kicker Specific Animations.  Watching Romo throw a pass never looked so sweet.  Also, watching the ridiculous stances of certain kickers is an added bonus.  Please add more next year.

    - Pocket Presence.  Watching my offensive line form a pocket is great.  Need I say more.

    - Trade Logic(FRANCHISE).  The trade logic looks good so far.  I don't mind the logic of draft picks either.

    THE NEGATIVE REMARKS:

    - Commentary.  Year in and year out, this part of your game always suffers. Tom Hammand adds no spark to your game.  He is awful to hear and becomes boring in less than a minute.  I recommend you bring in better talent or consider re-working his lines completely in the future.  Emotion is lacking in Hammond and his remarks are usually well off from what is occurring on the field.  If you focus on this aspect a little longer, I'm sure you'll achieve better results.

SUGGESTION: Hire new play-by-play announcer.  Add more lines and longer sessions for commentary.  Rework AI on commentary.  Add another team of announcers for Monday Night Football, playoff games and The Super Bowl.

    - The Extra Point Halftime Show. A wonderful addition, however it was poorly implemented.  The talent sound like they come from a speak-and-spell competition.  Please do not use the same people in the future.  The highlights from your game just has music and no voice tracks (maybe you were spearing us from this...who knows).  The analysis is dreadful due to commentary.

SUGGESTION:  New voice talent for halftime show.  I suggest Chris Berman and Keith Jackson from ESPN.  Include game highlights from a couple games.  Analysis of the first half with your game's highlights.  Include the score when doing scoreboard analysis.

    - The Extra Point Show(FRANCHISE).  Again, another great feature but it was done poorly.  Please look 2k5 for a wonderful example of how to do it right.  The voice actors are horrible to listen to and their insight is just plain boring.

SUGGESTION: Review NFL 2k5 content one more time.  New voice talent for show.  I suggest Chris Berman and Keith Jackson from ESPN.  Show highlights from close games.  Consider using Todd McShay or Me Kipper Jr. for analysis of future draft picks.  Journalists John Clayton could give you insight to the top stories around the league that week.  He could also go over recent injuries and rumors as well.  Further more, having Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas themes for your shows would be wonderful.  Finally, have new voice actors talk about the upcoming week and have them guess who will win.

    - Gameplay Sounds.  I'm not hearing the roar of panther after every first round.  I'm not hearing GO PACK, GO.  I think I barely heard J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS.  Certain stadium sounds are not present anymore.  Also, crowd reactions to fumbles, interceptions and touchdowns are not correct.  Touchdowns made by the visiting team just doesn't sound right either.

SUGGESTION:  Input more stadium sounds and investigate crowd reaction algorithm.  If all else fails you can copy NCAA Football and include your own custom stadium soundtrack.

    - Player Awareness.  Still have bugs concerning players running out of bounds during pass plays.

SUGGESTION: Try to iron out code so that players have better awareness of the outside lines.

    - Crowd Graphic and Appeal.  Yeah, I know it is minor but every year we get the same thing thrown at us.  The crowd always jumps up and claps no matter what.  We never see crowds going up and down stairs.  We never witness people leaving a game during a blowout.  By the way, this does NOT INCLUDE THE CUTSCENES.

SUGGESTION: If the frame rate will allow it, try adding more pixels to crowd.  Have animations for when you score a touchdown (jump and clap), animation for when nothing is going on (sitting) and when a long pass is being thrown (stand up).  These touches will be nice.  Remember this excludes cutscenes.

    - Sideline Graphics.  We're all well aware of how bad the sideline looks.  I feel I do not have to elaborate here.

SUGGESTION: Minor touch up on sideline.  Add more offensive and defensive coaches.

    - Hurry Up Offense.  The computer AI comes to the offensive line too fast during a no-huddle play.  This situation often leaves user with absurd offside penalties.

SUGGESTION: Check out the code and re-work the AI during no-huddle events.

    - Madden Shop.  Buying ratings or elite servers just feels wrong.  We're already forking over $50 dollars plus for your game, now you want more for other features.  This is a slippery slope and must be removed immediately in future games.  What ever happen to getting rewarded for winning games?

SUGGESTION: Delete this feature in the future.  Players should have to earn rewards not have to pay money for them.

    - Penalties.  We simply don't get enough calls.  When we do see a penalty it usually is false start, holding or pass interference.  There are several other penalties to the game.

SUGGESTION: Investigate logic for penalties.  When a penalty is called, show a quick highlight of why the ref made the call.  This could lead  to commentary referring to whether they made a right call or a bad call.

    - Timeout Display.  Pretty straight forward here.  The layout of the score banner at the bottom is fine, however I can hardly make out how many timeouts I have sometimes.

SUGGESTION: Make timeout bulletins brighter and different color than your team.  Universal color will suffice.

    - Running Animations.  Some running animations are alright while others are still pitiful.  I'm still witness some gliding on the field.

SUGGESTION: More motion captioning for different running styles (running backs, lineman,etc..)

    FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS

-Create-A-Play.  We had it before, now it is time to bring it to next gen Madden.

-Weapons Modified.  Some users such as myself believe you should bring back weapons.  I for one believe all you need to show are icons of WHO IS A SUPERSTAR, WHO'S HOT and WHO'S COOL.  That is all the icons you need.  The rest of the so-called weapons icon is too cumbersome.

-Breaking Out of The Huddle.  Show players clapping out of the huddle not just walking up to the line.  Also, you could have an option to set the cadence.  This would eliminate random off-side calls when you're playing offense.

-More Cut Scenes.  We got plenty of cut scenes from the last installment.  I would like to see more variations.  Add offensive coordinators/defensive coordinators into the mix.  Show them looking at photos with players.  Also show coordinators drawing up plays on a board.

-Dynamic Lighting.  Bring it back, pronto.  Games that start 1pm should finish out looking like 4pm. Games that start at sunset should turn to night.  Very simple stuff here.

-Customize Touch Down Celebration.  Instead of looking for a spot to celebrate a touchdown.  Just customize certain celebrations to each button on the controller.

-Cheerleaders.  Have them on the sidelines and show close up of them in cut scenes.  Have cheer girls in a line shaking their pom-poms during certain breaks.

-Auto Replays.  Show replays automatically of every touchdown, turnover and big pass play...no matter what.

-Highlight Cut-Ins (FRANCHISE).  After every quarter or major interruption, go to the studios and show a quick highlight from another game taking place in franchise mode.  Make this an option in case people get sick of it.

-Earn It.  If you win a quick game you should unlock new jerseys and touch down celebrations.  If you win games under other modes you can unlock new teams ('08 Steelers, '72 Dolphins) or maybe players (Walter Payton).  This was done way back in the older Madden series. You can use this under franchise mode as well.  With every single game you win (NOT SIMULATE) can net you points to use for better scouting reports, players recovering faster from injuries, knowing the gameplan of your next opponent and boosting ratings (5% higher) for one game.  Basically, reward players for doing good work.

-Excitement to Draft Day (FRANCHISE).  Bring The Extra Point Show along for the ride.  Have a cut scene of the first few draft picks walking up to the podium and holding a jersey.  Make it an event for the first round.  Everything beyond that can be just a draft board.

-Photo Express.  You have the ability to add photo to players online.  This can be done for current and franchise rosters.  Have the ability to add your face or your buddies in the game.

-NFL Combine (FRANCHISE).  Take draft picks (QB's, RB's, WR's, LB's and CB's) and test them out in a couple courses.  You might want to consider 3 on 3 drills.

    - ReelFeel Technology.  You can almost mimic the camera position of every single NFL game, correct?  Well why not use it to your advantage.  I'm pretty sure your engineers can create a program that can take HD NFL game footage and get motion capture from it.  Basically you identify points in a 2-D plan and then transfer them to a 3-D word easily with your new camera system.  All the program would have to do is recognize the change in points with every frame of a real NFL game.   Overall, you'll have incredibly fluid and life-like animations for different aspect of the game.

-Jersey Physics.  I realize how hard it would be to implement this feature.  Regardless of that, it certainly be nice to see it in future games.

That is it. I apologize for the lengthy content. Good luck on Madden '11.

Thanks for all of the comments.  Be sure to hit the forums link in the original post to share detailed impressions about the game.

Also take a look at the FAQ in that initial post as it may have answers to some of the questions you're asking.

  • swillz13 said August 17, 2009

question. with the updates. do they only do the rosters? or will the bugs be fixed also??

  • REVOLTnow said August 17, 2009

the accelerated clock sucks.  i like NCAA's idea better(chew the clock option that we can turn off/on).

there is too much time to pass and the zone defense isn't as tight as 09.

also, when playing man to man pass defense we can't alert our CB's to jump the inside routes.  i played a guy who ran slants on my CB all game long and my CB did nothing to stop it.  i thought you guys at EA promised us a counter to everything?

  • warrior310 said August 17, 2009

will they add all the helmets in the next update?

they gave us the revo speed only and made it come with regular facemask to make us think we had the schutt ion 4d.

please add the schutt ion 4d and air xp helmets.

yall can google them and see hpw they look.

for people who say,"oh helmets aren't important" dont bother saying it because i like to accessorize my players with the newest stuff in franchise.

  • swillz13 said August 17, 2009

yeah its also impossible to get sacks, the QB gets rid of the ball to quick and the O-lines not matter how bad they are like the steelers can block anyone, also you guys need a ratings person that actually watches football, he overates people way to much, just because your a fan of the cowboys and giants doesn't mean you have to make them amazing. The visors need fixing badlyand the qb avoidance sucks real bad. also superstar mode is worse now only a 100 points to make your guy is terrible, you guys need to bring back the combine from 09 and the crib from 07 on the xbox.

  • swillz13 said August 17, 2009

i don't think you guys should of bought the rights to NFL games because with no competition like what espn2k5 gave you, you guys just do slack jobs on the games because you now your the only nfl game out there now, and were do you guys get your running and throwing animations from. when you run you glide and you still can turn on a dime and when you throw the ball leaves your hand and gets completed before the QB finishes his follow through, Do you guys do mocap for your running?

because if you do the person thats does it runs like a retard. and whats the deal when you create a team people with black visors on your team all of sudden they turn white.

  • swillz13 said August 17, 2009

whats the deal with the facial animations, they make the players look like retards.

you guys made such a big deal advertising it and its not even that good. You guys actually should watch affotball game someday and maybe watch the probowl cuz last time i remember the pro bowl didn't have its own custom helmets player wore their teams helmet, And i don't think they do fly overs for preseason games they only do it for the superbowl

  • tommyespo@sbcglobal.net said August 17, 2009

to me this game has some good and some bad but it is a good football game

  • swillz13 said August 17, 2009

i agree with warrior on the equipment it's one of the most important aspects of the game. other wise there would be no protection. and plus everyone like to make their guy look good out there on the field. but i would really like to see mouth pieces in the game. maybe next year. or u guys could do it with an update. i mean u guys said everything we see on sunday will be in madden. i see that on sunday. u know how many people wear those. i could give u a list if u want

  • swillz13 said August 17, 2009

also please fix the visors for some reason they only look good on the stander 1 helmets and the revo helmets. but on the other ones they look so weird

  • warrior310 said August 17, 2009

i think pro tak sucks to be honest.

please fix the engine,a lot of things go wrong with it.somebody could be an inch away from the ground (falling) and magically the guy gets up for more yards.

i cant stand to write/search for all the good ideas i put on here.

you guys need to focus on the game of football instead of online franchise and co-op crap.

yall need to get busy in the mo cap instead of making these new techs.you should really get 22 nfl players (offense and D) from every position and actually have a scrimage recording all the movements.

the other day i was happy about the game but i saw some things i hated.

if yall really read these comments, yall would have responded.

all i have to say is LOOK at any 2k football game.you guys took out things from franchise and made being a created team less fun.you guys made us pay for the talk out of retirement feature and its no negotiations.

you guys gotta get on the ball or just leave your job and let the nba live dev team take over.

i hate to talk like this but seriously, have a talk with nfl players, agents, coaches, and fans for the real idea of how football is.

i like what you TRIED to do but its done wrong.touch up on every aspect.

you guys also forgot the nfl ticker, you should have put it on the top right of the screen.

also add create a playbook and take out those generic pro bowl helmets for crying out loud.

last thing, stop bringing in those hardcore madden fans to give ideas and not listen to us here, also try bringing in the people who know and play the sport.

sorry guys but someone has to get real with this game, realtalk.

  • warrior310 said August 17, 2009

also, there are cutscenes with players on the sideline with the helmets tilted up on their heads and they have no chinstrap.whats up with that?

also when the QB talks on the phone he does a stupid face with like one lip over the other (cant explain it)and it just looks dumb.

  • HightlightKid said August 18, 2009

When will vick be on the games

  • warrior310 said August 18, 2009

let me rephrase the 3rd section of my long comment.

i meant that i wont stand to sit here and type up all the ideas i had again.

  • swillz13 said August 18, 2009

i noticed that to. i really think u guys should have waited maybe another month to release the game because there is way to many bugs. and the gameplay is still horrible. no-offence id still play 2k5 over this game anyday

  • warrior310 said August 18, 2009

also, give us a sense of control when going in to do special moves.you guys should go back to classic controls.keep tapping the X button for sprinting (A on xbox i think).have a bar where you hold X down to charge up to execute a special move.

for the last time, have more times to start games, have in game weather transition and in game time of day change.

did it really hurt to add more throwback jerseys?

stick to the more important things and not add ons such as online franchise and co-op.you guys should just take out nfl superstar and just make a separate game for that.

  • warrior310 said August 18, 2009

also, when i had to comeback in the 4th Q,they took away my timeouts when i had 3 left.

imma start holding out on madden until im fully sure i want it.

been playin for several days now...some notes...

good note...improved gameplay in many aspects...is it perfect, hell no...but better.

bad note...the "pick 6" is WAY too easy to pull off. i think about 2/3 of my picks and 3/4 of other players picks against me have gone for 6 online...again, WAY too easy.

good note...i really like the new qb animations for the most part...the throw being affected by a def. player hitting the qb, sometimes leading to easy "jump balls" to be picked. i see that on sunday, good to see it here.

bad note...the RB "glides" are really annoying...even when i benefit. don't see it on sunday, don't want it here.

good note...love the fight for the fumble...it may be a button mash, but it's really fun.

bad note...on the 1st down measurements, only 2 animation cut scenes. and ya can tell which it's gonna be instantly, before the measurement. that's not fun.

good note...over the shoulder catching rocks, as do some of the new diving animations and such for receivers.

bad note...rceivers still seem a lil too oblivious to the sideline.

good note...love the increased roughing penalties (late hits on qb, nailing a guy who is out of bounds gratuitously now draws more flags).

bad note...interference still not called right. illegal contact (bumping after 5 yards) not called at all. holding penalties seem way to random, as do false starts.

good note...i love the fact that tackling properly seems more important

bad note...hit stick still subject to too much abuse by players.

good note...man to man is better

bad note...man to man still ain't right and is too easy to burn on some patterns.

my jury is still out on the accelerated clock. when it came on the gamestop demo, it pissed me off (and still does) that my game was being sped up without my consent. i initially didn't like it online...but after playing a few games, the sped up game doesn't bother me as much. clock management being more important now is a nice wrinkle. i don't use it on franchise, and that allows me to do some different things as i see that mode as more "practice" than anything.

EA gutted my team's playbook...seemingly taking out 1/2 the plays i used and modifying others to where i used to do manual motion and reads (like the team does in real life) instead of the "greenline" default motions that i can't change, modify or anything. on one level, i didn't like that...and there are times in games where i wish i had a few plays i don't now (esp a couple of money plays)but i am very much enjoying the challenge of making new gameplans. i do wish i had some more control here or some create a play abilities.

but bitchin aside...overall, i am havin a good time with the game, when i can find time to play. i give it an 8.75 out of 10.

what is up with the Miami Dolphins ratings?!? They are the defending AFC champs and are rated lower than garbage teams like the bills and jets.  First thing, pats went over 11-5 with cassell and missed playoffs, a team that misses the playoffs is not a 93 overall!!  tom brady yes increases that but you still upped every other rating.  all three of their 2nd round picks are over 70, even higher than some first round picks!  Matt light, mankins , and coppen gave up TONS of sacks last year, some of the highest in the league for their position, why are they rated so high! heres a link for ya forums.49ers.com/.../showthread.php, and now back to the dolphins ratings.  RIcky williams is slower than brandon jacobs? are you kidding me!! sean smith anybody ?? hes starting as a 2nd round pick at corner even had a pick in his first nfl game and completely shut down tory holt. dan carpenter was leadign the afc probowl voting after the fan vote as a rookie!! they dont call him dc$ for nothing. watch jamaal charles get sucked up by yermiah bell in last years games, charles had a good 10 yards on him and got caught, yet look at both speeds lol, also crowder is jsut as fast as our backup LT frye at 74 even though his 40 time is almost 1 second faster.. again lol Tedd ginn has the fastest ever recorded 40 why is he a 97?

  • micdevious said August 19, 2009

i love the game! it took you 5 years but you came through. anyways, i not tryin to nit pick, but next season can you change that sissy ass running animation style you have on madden nfl 09 and 10, please! you know, the running animation you got before you push the sprint(acceleration)button. i like good football games but i love cool looking football games. it is the nfl you know, lol. just in case you've started on madden nfl 11 already, can you improve the running style. sometimes it doesn't feel like i'm controlling the player when i decide to make a move. A spin move, for example, does a different move when i select it. the different move gets me free sometimes but it feels more like the computer is doing it. and maybe you could do the truck system more like espn nfl 2k5. Where with a big back is just running over defenders. i don't care what other people say about madden nfl vs nfl 2k. too me, ea sports is mainly about game play. I loved madden over the past years, madden nfl 2004 and before, because it made me feel like i was in total control of the player that i was controlling. What's football without a great running system. sometimes i wish could help you with the little things that gets overlooked. oh well, other than that.....WELL DONE my friend!

  • warrior310 said August 19, 2009

you love the half @$$ game, they love the full time money.

  • TreyIM2 said August 20, 2009

I think the game is pretty good, overall. I know it's far from perfect but what's there keeps me coming back for more. I even constructed a list of likes/improvements/additions that I posted on the feedback website and slid to Ian on his operation sports page.

  • sconn1 said August 20, 2009

folks...i've been posting on this forum since it was started and i think those who have followed along and been here as well know that i'm no one's "water carrier" and have been critical and have called EA out on many occasions as this blog and game have developed.

with that being said...slow down people...this is a game...it will always be a game. artificial intelligence programmed into our lil electronic men are not even close to the thought processes and intangibles that make the game of football, which i assume we all really like or love, what it is.

this GAME can be a lot of fun. i've been playing it since it was 1st developed 20 years ago. and before that, i played every football simulation, eectronic, electric or board game that i could find.

this GAME is not real life folks. and technology is way off where it would be as such. it is the best simulation out there. and stop whinin bout 2k5. yeah, it had some cool stuff, and some BIG flaws. and pound for pound, this game is better. period. if you don't think so, go back and live in your 2k5 world...enough already.

but think about it, for any football game out there...what quarterback has an omniscient view from overhead of the field? in real life, qb's have to see the field from the ground, with a helmet on...not even close to what we have here or anywhere...

what "real life" game has big icons hanging over your guys so you don't just wail the ball anywhere, which is what most would do, if there were no icons?

in real life, if i call a bunch of audibles, some fake, some not...i may confuse the other team, but i'll probably confuse some of my guys as well...which is a disaster. in madden, not so much.

in real life, some great players have lousy days, stretches and seasons...in madden, not so much. and the same can be said for the scrubs. scrubs have even been super bowl mvp's in real life. no one complains about that, but if you get beat by one in madden, you'll cry that the game isn't realistic.

again folks, it s a game...a pretty good one and as close to a simulation as any have developed. but putting "real life standards" on this "simulation" is just asking too much of it.

is EA a greedy corporation? they sure are. but the business world will control that destiny. the fact is that some of the engineers and designers who actually put this together are quite brilliant. and if you disagree, develop and engineer your own game and show us all how it's done.

do they have people who are probably not as "into" football as we like? sure. and i would hope either the people working would either develop a love of the game or be replaced. but back to what i said above, some of these people are quite good, despite not being perceptively as hardcore as you. and i suspect some of the people who develop call of duty aren't as war loving as the game would suggest. or that every employee at rockstar is a major felon as GTA would suggest. some things take talent, others can be learned.

can madden be better? sure, and year after year i hope to get an improved product in some way or another. i don't expect everything in one year. if it were that easy, i suspect that ya'll would have developed your own game by now.

are there disapointments this year? sure are. i think online franchise is half baked, and i have made otehr comments on this and other places where i think they could stand some improvement.

but at the end of the day...these folks did deliver a pretty fine game.

i'll jump down from the ol soapbox now...

I like the game so far But I dont know what idiot at EA thought it was a good Idea to not allow the users to decide on if they want the 15 second run off the clock on all modes including playing friends online I need that extra time they running off the clock. also the run game seems to have suffered a bit too I use to average around 70 yds a game on previous maddens but this one only way you can get anyyards is use Adrian Peterson Or use the Wildcat which I think they made to hard to stop. Also for my last complaint why the rating adjustments so drastic I had guys from my Cowboys that were rated in the mid 80's now low 70's thats to me is to big of an adjustment, and they change of direction for the players suck too!!!! thats my complaint other than that games ok 7.8 out of 10 not just a full 8 could be with those few adjustments I mentioned!!!!

hey ea, just to say madden 10 is the best so far, and i just wanted to say is madden game play could have been better.please ea next year for madden 11 please may the biggest concern be the game play. EA please work on the game play because when you play on all madden, its like the computer knows what you are doing. Please EA make the biggest concern be the GAME PLAY!Just to say i love madden 10 thanks EA.

  • PaRkErLHDC42294 said August 26, 2009

Hey ea its parker again, and I just wanted to say is  the comment twister1074 wrote and he has a point u guys said you worked on the presentation and you guys did not put in 100% effort.espn2k5 has every thing in presentation.I really think the owner of ea should hire the guys from 2k beacause all of you ea guys just care about graphics when the main concern should have been game play.ea I've already said to work on the gameplay, now the presentation in year to should be big too.ea producers put your work in madden and make it authentic like nba live team is doing for live 10.

    Parker=)

hello ea, im a avid fan of madden, and madden 10 is outstanding :), but next years could be even better, for instance: create an equipment creator ie, users can create their own facemasks, gloves, and cleats, sleve designs and logos. a new feature to create-a-player, create software that takes a web cam snapshot of the player, and molds the players face into the game, it wouldnt have to be too advanced, but a general shape, with some distinct facial features would be nice. Socks! yes its kinda corny, but some players wear theirs short, like isacc bruce, and some like it longer like larry fitzgerald. thank you, and i hope u like my ideas :)
