NCAA Football 10: Progression Feedback

First of I'd like to Thank everyone for taking the time to provide some direct feedback for NCAA Football 10 it really helps us in keeping things together instead of filtering through 100's of wish list/feedback posts on the entire game across multiple forums .

With that said I'm very interested in starting with Progression, given the initial feedback from the game and the released patch which changed it. I'm curious about what are your thoughts about the current state of progression in NCAA 10 and was the patch a step in the right direction in your opinion or not? Secondly I'd like to know what you feel is the most important aspect of a player progression both in our game and in reality (personally I feel they should be the same if not similar).

Some examples include:

• A players Potential - Some guys are just going to get good as they get older; sure playing time and coaches might help... but the kid is going to have All American talent
• The Team - Coaches and Facilities build great players; while a recruit has some ability he really can't get much better unless someone helps him along the way
• On the Field - The only thing that matters is what you do on Saturday (or any other day the Sun Belt schedules a game ); meaning that his stats drive how good he can be.

I'll be reading through every post here in my new NCAA Football sub forum and we will have a Live Chat in the near future on this topic, so if you have questions put them in your post. I'll try and get some free time to post as well, but we are working hard on the game right now.

    How about updating the uniforms ie Oregon, Pitt, Arizona St and others. I assume  since madden was able to update uniform change with the AFL uniforms I would assume that you should be able to do the same. Make the game as authentic as possible!

    why can't you guys make a NCAA 10 on wii.... am telling you ...where am from ...you can sell a lot of NCAA 10 on wii but right now were a little upset that you didn't make a NCAA game on the wii

    The player models are excellent and I hope you continue to make your players look and feel as real as they play.  I looking for EA to get better in the near future.  The camera angle change as the quaterback moves around the field and pocket was great as well.  I feel I like had exceeded all expectation from me with this game.  I love and I still continue to play it.  I not trading it in 'til next year when the new version drops next year.

    the game is really fun, my only problem is the game play.  Madden NFL 10 has the best gameplay for a football game i've ever played.  If you make NCAA 11's gameplay like madden it will be perfect in my opinion.

    I want to know if there is a way where you can play the game from a sideline tv vision view? You can do that on playstation2 but why can't you do that on playstation3 or exbox?

    I bought NCAA '10 coming over from a PS2 to PS3 and noticed that training mini-games are gone. What I say? Mini training games are the way go for maximum progression for key players. You should should also be able to set a team focus, for example a heavy option style offense should have more improved FB/RBs while a spread offense should dictate WR progression. On defense you might let the coach choose DL/LB/DB focus.

    Recruit ratings:  

    I think the ratings are good as they are. I would like to see more consistent names. For example: a white guy is named Xavier or Dominick Manning, hilarious. I mean I can just change that myself but its just kind of silly. Also, the lack of white running backs, receivers, and Dbs. I have tried to look for a white HB every year of my recruiting, its impossible and if you do he is a 2 star or 3 star. Toby Gerhart? Mike Hass? dominant white players.

          Also, make the ATH more able to play more positions. I dont even recruit ATH because I never get to put them anywhere I want. I try to just recruit ATH for FB positions. I will look for a specific body type as an athlete like 6 foot and up 200 and up but he will just end up being a LB or TE. Make the ATH more versatile. He is an ATH because he can play everywhere, not just one position

    I would like to see more FB, K, P. Sometimes there are only 7 FBs during recruiting and only one of them are a 4 star who just goes to Norte Dame. I literally have an impossible time getting FB. I am Oregon State in my Dynasty and use South Carolinas playbook, which has two FB formations, and I have yet got a FB to come to my school. I promise them a national championship and everything, they still wont come. I end up recruiting a ton a TE and just changing them to FB.

    Recruiting Difficulty:

          I think recruiting is good but it is WAY to time consuming. I love FIFA 10 because i can just play games. No one buys NCAA to spend 5-10 minutes, sometimes 15, before each game on recruiting. I just DREDD having to do the recruiting. I would just let the AI do it but I feel like its just cheating. Try to just trim it down. Make it to where I could quick call the people who just have the phone icon next to them. Like I could talk to the recruits I really want to and then just allot all of the rest of the time to the other guys without having to go into each profile and allotting time to them.

          I think you should revamp the recruiting against feature because it doesnt work. If I have an A+ coaching experience and the team I am recruiting against has a B I cant get that to go negative. Again, too time consuming.

    I think the time for players for waiting is perfect. A great player will hold out and a lesser one will be quick to sign. Stick to that

    Recruits:

    This is totally fine. I could care less what they like as long as I can figure it out and get them to my school on a visit. Really thats the main concern

    Recruiting Players

    ◦ How often do you use Quick Call?

    I will use this as often as I can. I just want to play games not spend time on recruiting. I am relieved at the      beginning of the season because then you can just quick call everybody and focus more on the games. As the season goes along you end up actually having to call guys, which is time consuming

    ◦ How often do you move players around on your Recruiting Board?

    I never have used this and didnt know it was an option until this blog hahaha

    ◦ What do you think of the Phone Call?

    The phone call is ok. Time consuming but I can see the point of it. Hate when it takes forever to unlock a topic. Sometimes you are getting a +8 and it goes on forever and the face goes from a smile to a frown and he hangs up on you without unlocking the topic. I mentioned this before, revamp recruiting against or just get rid of it. A+ to an B+ I should be able to get some type of negative advantage against that school instead of just getting a +12 reaction out of the recruit. Recruiting against is also pointless for me against a Norte Dame. Oregon State is a C+ on academic and when I see Norte Dame on that its just pointless to try and talk the kid down on that.

    And then just anything you have an opinion about with recruiting.

    One last thing, I am really disappointed on the BUYING the pipeline state and all the other features on the game. I really cant believe you guys have gone that route in order to allow us to upgrade our schools. Let us UNLOCK them not have to BUY them. I already paid 60 dollars on the game and then you want me to BUY stuff to make my team better? If I am winning championship after championship I think my Academic Prestige will rise a little. Dont make me buy that. How the Economy is right now for you guys to pull that is a huge reflection on you. I have bought NCAA since 2000 and was pretty disappointed in that.

    progression should be performance based first as far as skill players. A 76 freshman runner who rushes for 2,000 yards his freshman season should not just go up to a 78 or 79. he should at least be an 85 his sophmore season. he performed like an 85 back. i wouldn't put him up to 90 cause he only did it one year. but he is obviously not a 78 or 79. samething with other perfomance based positions. O-Line should be more team based like overall team rushing and overall team passing.
