The results are in! FTWG (Friends of Tiger Woods Golf) won the second week of the Club Challenge! FTWG just edged out K2 Spotted by an average of .2 of a stroke! Even the third place team BDGA League only lost by less than one shot. It has been a great competition so far!

Now it's time for the Games Village to defend their King of the Hill Trophy against FTWG. This will be a battle to follow considering the FTWG score beat the Games Village practice round this week. It all starts today and will run through the weekend. The winner of the match will have their team name/extra date added to the King of the Hill Trophy. Good Luck to both teams and look out for the results on Monday.

Club Challenge

Create a club or join an existing one to participate in Week 3 of the Club Challenge. When you have a club, your team will get its very own VIP tournament. Only your team will be allowed to submit scores within your tournament. At the end of the week, we look at everyone's scores and calculate a club average. The club with the best average score wins and gets to play in another special VIP tournament against the Dev Team or the current King of the Hill Champions from the previous week. Next rounds start October 13, 2009 at 5pm. Your club needs at least 10 players to qualify (Your team can be made up of both PS3 and Xbox 360 players).

Welcome to another exciting week of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10. We have brand new Dev created tournaments, the Presidents Cup Challenge for great prizes, a new DLC course, and some new videos from the Tiger Woods Dev team and community! Check below for even more new and exciting news coming your way.

Club Challenge Week 2

The Games Village was crowned the first "King of the Hill" champions after defeating the CaddySharks by an average of 2 strokes. It was a great match, but now the Games Village will have to defend their title this weekend. The winning club of this week will play against the Games Village over the weekend.

Which Club name will be added next? or another date?

Week 2 competition has just started up to see who will play against the Games Village. So far, Son of a Glitch, K2 Spotted, and Jedi Warriors are putting up some nice numbers. This week looks even closer than last week's competition. The Games Village is going to have their hands full over the weekend.

How to setup a Facebook Club?

1. From your main facebook page please add "Ea Brandt" as a friend. This will allow you to make "Ea Brandt" an admin for your clubs page so that we can directly interact with your club and get you in the game.

2. You can add an Admin by selecting to edit your club within the page screen. (Adding "Ea Brandt" as an admin is a must)

Once you have sent a friend request/added "Ea Brandt" you are now ready to begin creating your club.

3. Select Applications from the bottom left hand corner of the screen then select "Ads and Pages". Select pages from the top to begin your fan page.  If you do not see the button, this will take you straight to the creation page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

4. For your page type please select "Sports Team" located under the (Artist, Band or Public Figure) section.
Your Club name is up to you but keep in mind that inappropriate or suggestive club names will not be recognized!
(Please do not use Tiger Woods PGA TOUR in your club name in any way)

Once your page is created your welcome to create a logo for your team and display it as your profile photo.

5. Once your page is created select the "Info" tab and follow the guidelines below:

(This will allow us to see who is playing and on what platform for your club)

Hello Tiger Community,

This past weekend, Tiger Woods had another victory at the Buick Open. Do you think he can pull off back to back wins at Firestone this week? You can compete against Tiger Woods along with the rest of the field in the World Golf Championships at the Firestone Country Club starting today. It has also been a big week for Live Tournaments with the addition of Tiers and Total Player Leaderboards. Check below for more details.

Look out for the NEW DLC course, COG HILL! We are running an early bird special with a 33% off discount for the first week. Remember that the third round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs is played at Cog Hill this year, so get your practice in now. The next patch will also be available soon. It will add a few new options to Live Tournaments. We will now be able to setup tournaments where everyone will have the same sweetspot percentage on their clubs and the ability to turn off chipping/pitching on the green. As always, please feel free to let us know what you think about some of our recent additions.

Live Seasons Update

The first Live Tournaments Season is in full swing with the second week just finishing up today. The third week in the season will be played at Torrey Pines. CSeidz420 is currently in the lead for the EA Sports Tour on Xbox 360 and STONE-COLD330 is standing at the top of the leaderboard for the PGA Tour Season on PS3. Which course would you like to see as the final week for Season 1?

Live Tournament Updates

• Live Tournament Tiers are now available. It consists of ten tiered tournaments plus one tournament for brand new players. The Tier Tournaments now allow players of the same skill level to compete against each other. For example, tier 2 is limited to players around 1,200 thru 1,300 skill rating and Tier 8 is limited to higher skilled players around 1,900+. This has created better competition throughout the tournaments and we would like to thank you for all your feedback related to Live Tournaments.

• Total Players that have participated in an event can now be viewed at the top of each Live Tournament leaderboard.

• NEW Cog Hill DLC available on 8/6/09, look for upcoming Live Tournaments!

 

• Play the Pros Amateur will continue this week with the World Golf Championships Am.
• We recently had some great player created Extreme tournaments by LTisacharger, cccgolfer08, and DIhardUNCFAN. Submit your course below or on the forums and you might just see it as the next Extreme Live Tournament. Thanks!

Tournament of the Week – The OPEN – TIGER Only, Xbox 360

The Tournament of the Week came down to the tiebreaker score. The Open was limited to only using Tiger Woods on Amateur difficulty at Oakmont CC. Buckaye and SCUF MIKE were tied for first at 23 –under ,but Buckaye’s hole in one gave him the lead in tiebreaker points. The rest of the top ten finished at 22 –under. Congratulations to the top three finishers who made this the Tournament of the Week!

Hello everyone, I’m back again with this week’s Live Tournament news and updates. This past weekend ended with an exciting playoff finish at The Open Championship. Stewart Cink defeated Tom Watson to take home the Claret Jug. We had more than 23,000 players participate across PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii in our Play the Pros UK Major at Turnberry. Where did you place?

This week brings some brand new additions to Live Tournaments. We are introducing the start of Live Tournament Seasons, Progressive Payouts, Amateur Play the Pros, My Stats, and a brand new DLC course. Live Seasons Now Open!

 
The first ever Live Tournaments Season just started. The seasons will also include the brand new Progressive Payout system. You will now be rewarded based off the total number of players that you beat on the leaderboard. So if you place 100th for the week and 9,000 players enter, you will get paid for each one of the 8,900 players you defeated. The seasons are broken into 2 categories, EA SPORTS TOUR (Amateur low rating players) and the PGA TOUR (Tour Pro). Jump online now and start your season TODAY!

• Based on forum suggestions from the last blog, Extreme tournaments will be varied between custom courses and real courses. Also, the new Open tournament will vary between allowing all golfers and locking the tournament to pros only

Tournament of the Week – WENTWORTH DAILY PRO, Wii

This was an extremely close tournament played on 7/21/2009 at Wentworth. The tournament featured some rough conditions with lightning fast greens and high winds. Rudolpho just barely edged out second place to steal the win by one stroke. Congratulations to the top three finishers who made this the Tournament of the Week!

Hello, my name is Christian Brandt and I'm a Designer for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10. I'm starting up a weekly Live Tournaments blog to give everyone more insight on new additions, upcoming schedules, tournament winners, and tournament changes. More importantly, I would like to get your feedback so we can continue to improve Live Tournaments. I'm looking forward to hear what you think about some of our recent changes.

This is a big weekend for Live Tournaments starting today with Play the Pros UK Major Championship and the EA SPORTS Open. It will be exciting to watch how the 138th Open Championship pans out. Tiger finished at 1 over after his first round. Where are you standing after the first round? Remember that the UK Major Championship is played at Turnberry in Scotland, so tee times start at 1:30am Eastern Time Zone.

EA SPORTS Open Contest

The EA SPORTS Open featuring the Alisa Championship Course at Turnberry will be played on Tour Pro difficulty and restricts users to only play as pro golfers. Make sure to complete your 4 rounds before Tuesday 7/21/2009 at 2:00am for a chance at some great prizes. The top placed U.S. and UK player for each of the platforms will receive an autographed Tiger Woods game cover.

Live PGA TOUR Seasons COMING SOON!

Starting next week, we will be rolling out the first Online Season. It will be broken into 2 different channels, EA SPORTS TOUR (Amateur low rating players) and the PGA TOUR (Tour Pro). It will consist of 4 week long events with its own season leaderboard. Join for your chance to be crowned the 1^st ever Live Season Champion!

Live Tournament Updates

• Pro golfer only tournaments have now been included in the daily rotation such as SEMI-PRO Tiger.
• The attribute capped tournaments are back thanks to the patch. Currently PTP and Tour Pro events are set to 7 overall attribute cap.
• Based on forum suggestions, the next few Extreme tournaments are on a single course. Do you prefer custom courses or a single course for the Extreme Tournaments?
• All tournaments have been changed to 1 submission per round/event.
• The new progressive payout structure is currently being tested by our QA team and will rollout to production shortly.

Tournament of the Week - SINGLE TRY - FURYK, X360

This was one of the closest and lowest scoring tournaments I have seen since launch. The tournament was limited to only using Jim Furyk on Tour Pro difficulty at Turnberry. Danielson1924 edged out the win by tiebreaker score. The top 4 players finished at -10, but Danielson1924's tiebreaker of 2,249 just defeated Rastafarian73 with a score of 2, 242.
