  • EA SPORTS Presser Wrap Up

Even though E3 officially gets started on Tuesday when the doors to the LA Convention Center open and the gaming begins, on Monday EA held its press conference at The Orpheum Theater to present what's in store for those in attendance at this week's Electronics and Entertainment Expo.

Carlos Navarro and Eric Gray were on hand to take in the presentations put on by the EA staff along with getting us some quick commentary with Community leader Bryan Wiedey from PastaPadre.com.

The EA SPORTS segment of the show kicked off with a bang with an all new commercial highlighting the Sports Win.  President Peter Moore then took the stage and talked about one of the most anticpated games of the year, FIGHT NIGHT Round 4.  Peter broke the news that the game will actually be shipping in North America on June 25th rather than originally scheduled June 30th.  Following that good news was the introduction of EA SPORTS' newest franchise MMA, shipping in 2010.

Steve Chiang then hit the stage to discuss Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online coming to a browser winder near you this fall along with Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Wii shipping later this week.  Steve would go on to talk about the launch of the new EA SPORTS Beta site before pointing out TeamBuilder features for NCAA Football 10.  Saving the best for last, Steve closed introducing Online Franchise for Madden NFL 10 to the approval of the football fans in attendance.

Peter returned to the stage to close with praise for EA SPORTS Active with sales of over 600,000 units in its first two weeks.  Also announced for the fitness title was a holiday expansion pack that looks to add to an already very successful product.

To wrap things up for the label, Peter introduced Grand Slam Tennis Producer Thomas Singleton and the two briefly demoed the Wii title before being interrupted by Grand Slam Tennis Champion Pete Sampras who took over for Peter and upped Thomas on a couple of points, making it look easy!

With the doors opening on Tuesday, catch a lot more from E3 all week here on the Inside EA SPORTS blog and EA SPORTS Beta website.
