  • NCAA Basketball 10: Weekend Match ups for Saturday February 25th

The conference tournaments are looming ever so close and we're back to bring you another edition of weekend match-ups in college basketball. This weekend's set of games actually consist of three tasty morsels for all of you to feast on. This week's entry takes a look at games between (2) Kentucky vs. (17) Tennessee, (8) Villanova vs. (4) Syracuse and (14) Michigan State vs. (3) Purdue. All three of these games have the potential to be exciting match-ups so let's get this going and take a look at our first featured match-up with Kentucky taking on Tennessee.

The Wildcats continue to roll and despite having one loss in conference play. They are really playing like a team that many consider to be a national title contender. While they are playing great basketball at the moment you can't count out Tennessee. The Volunteers have a habit of taking down top ranked teams. This should be a very interesting game to watch this Saturday and we'll see if Kentucky can continue to roll or if Tennessee has it in them to pull off a big upset.

Next up comes Villanova vs. Syracuse. The Villanova Wilcats have been reeling lately and this is a great opportunity for Nova to turn it around. They have it incredibly tough though as they are going to be taking on a strong Syracuse team who has been phenomenal all year and should be a real tournament threat. This looks like it could be THE game to watch this weekend but anything can happen with the other match-ups so let's see what happens.

The final interesting match-up comes with Michigan State taking on Purdue. Purdue would have been an easy pick if they weren't dealing with injuries. This is anyone's game to win now and it should be another great game to tune into which goes down on Sunday.

As always we always want to know which games you guys will be tuning into. Let us know by telling us on the forums and giving us your feedback. We'll be back next week with another set of match-ups for all of you to look forward to. See you all again.

  • NCAA Basketball 10: Weekend Match ups for Saturday February 13th

With conference play causing all sorts of havoc in the college basketball season, we're back again to hopefully contribute more madness in the college basketball rankings before the conference tournaments kick off. Last week we looked at Villanova taking on Georgetown and the Hoyas were looking to get back on track by taking down the then number 2 team in the country. The Hoyas made a loud statement by defeating Villanova handily and let the college basketball world know that they are up to the task of taking down any contending team. This week's match up could bring the same implications with (12) Tennessee taking on (2) Kentucky. Can the Volunteers take down the Wildcats, we'll have to wait and see this Saturday.

Tennessee are more than capable of taking down Kentucky as they have been taking down great teams all year such as the Kansas Jayhawks, who were ranked No. 1 to begin the season and suffered their first loss of the year at the hands of the Volunteers. Kentucky was able to bounce back nicely from their upset defeat at the hands of South Carolina and they have been looking poised to be one of the teams to beat in the upcoming NCAA tournament. While it remains to be seen who will win this game, most people would have to believe that Kentucky possesses too many weapons on their team and that they should be able to take down the Volunteers. Can the Volunteers pull off another big win over a highly ranked opponent or will Kentucky prove to be too strong? We'll have to wait and see this Saturday and find out.

We can only hope for another exciting game this weekend and if it's anything like we saw last week, maybe we are in line for another upset although it doesn't look like that will happen. However with college basketball, you should always expect the unexpected.

See you all again next week and enjoy this Saturday's game.

  • NCAA Basketball 10: Weekend Match ups for Saturday February 6th

The first weekend of February is almost here and as conference play in college basketball has produced a number of upsets we're here again to bring you another edition of weekend match ups to look forward to in the world of college basketball. Last week saw the Georgetown Hoyas pull off the upset over the Duke Blue Devils (definitely a great game to watch, more so if you're a Hoyas fan) and the Kentucky Wildcats were able to bounce back nicely after their shock defeat at the hands of South Carolina. This weekend many of the top teams in the country will be in action but of all the games that will be available to watch over the weekend, one match up really stood out among the rest. For this week's edition we will be looking at Saturday's upcoming game between (2) Villanova and (8) Georgetown.

The Hoyas are looking to bounce back after a heart breaking loss to South Florida but unfortunately for Georgetown they're going to be up against a very talented Villanova squad. This is a great opportunity for Georgetown to make a statement and show the college basketball world that their loss against South Florida was a freak accident. This is going to be a very tough match up for Georgetown since Villanova is highly favored to win this game (and for good reason, they've only lost one game all year). This looks to be the most exciting game of the entire weekend and if you're only able to watch one game, make sure it's this one.

While there are other talented top-seeded teams in action those games don't bring the same level of excitement that's found with the Villanova/Georgetown game. While on paper the games don't seem as interesting, the thing about college basketball is you should expect the unexpected. This is an element that makes college basketball so enthralling. When Kansas State took down Texas, the atmosphere in the arena was electric. The same thing occurred when South Carolina took down Kentucky. The energy of the crowd and the entire atmosphere that goes along with it truly makes college basketball special. So while the other match ups weren't highlighted with the same level of detail as the Georgetown/Villanova game, that's not to say that those match ups don't have the same element of potential excitement. We will only know what to expect when the games are played out over the weekend.

We'll be back again next week for more exciting match ups in college basketball so keep following along on the Inside Blog. Also continue to let us know what game will be the one to watch by letting us know what you think on the forums. See you again next week.

  • NCAA Basketball 10: Weekend Match ups for Saturday January 30th

The week is winding to a close and there are big college basketball match ups on the horizon, so once again we're here to bring you previews of big college basketball games you should all be looking forward to this weekend. Last week we saw Texas being unable to bounce back from their first defeat of the season and Kentucky, who earlier this week were crowned the No.1 spot, suffered their first defeat of the year so it will be interesting to see what happens with the match ups this weekend. To begin we'll take a look at Kentucky's match up against Vanderbilt.

    (1) Kentucky are looking to bounce back after suffering their first defeat at the hands of South Carolina. They will take on (23) Vanderbilt on Saturday and if last weekend was any indication, if Kentucky don't come into this game with full focus they will lose this game against Vanderbilt. However, with the personnel that Kentucky have this season they should be able to win this game but of course anything can happen in college basketball.

This Saturday also sees another exciting match up with (2) Kansas taking on (13) Kansas State. K-State are playing great basketball this season and after taking down the previous No.1 in Texas they're looking to take down the next potential No.1 team, the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks have been playing great as well and they are going to be the heavy favorites going into their game on K-State's home court. This could be the game to watch this whole weekend so if you only want to watch one game this should be the one you turn into.

Another match up that could rival or possibly top the "Battle of Kansas" could be (7) Duke taking on (11) Georgetown. Both teams play exciting basketball and are stepping out of conference play to take each other on. This should be a very exciting game to watch as they are almost evenly matched. Will this game be better than the "Battle of Kansas" remains to be seen.

Let us know which match up this weekend is the one to tune into by following the thread in the forums and letting us know what you think. There are some scintillating games to watch so if you're a college basketball be sure to tune in and enjoy. See you all again next week.

  • NCAA Basketball 10: Weekend Match ups

The work week is almost over which means the weekend will be arriving very soon. With the month of January almost in the books the NCAA basketball season is beginning to turn on the excitement level. This weekend's set of match-ups don't carry the same level of appeal as last week's did but that's not to say there aren't any interesting games to look for. Out of all the potential games we chose two for all of you to look out for and let's start by taking a look at (1) Texas vs.  (21) Connecticut

The Longhorns are coming off their first loss of the year and they're going to want to make an example of the Huskies on their home floor on Saturday afternoon. Kansas State got the better of the Longhorns and the Huskies have to be believe that if K-State were able to take down the top team in the country (which they won't be when Monday's rankings arrive) they have to have a legitimate chance of winning. The Longhorns have to be the heavy favorites but let's see what the Huskies can bring to the table.

The next match-up you should look into would have to be (6) Duke at (16) Clemson. The Blue Devils are coming off a tough loss to NC State and Clemson have been playing great basketball as of late so this should be another entertaining game to look forward to. Duke is going to want to prove that their loss against NC State was an unfortunate accident so here's their chance of getting back on the right track by taking down a solid ACC contender in Clemson.

Do you guys have a weekend match-up that is more exciting than the ones that we presented? Let us know what you think by visiting the forums and tell us what game everyone should be tuning into. We'll be back next week with more exciting match-ups to look into. Enjoy the games.
