By now some of you have probably had a chance to play around with the EA SPORTS Video Highlight Reel, a new feature that was recently added to EA SPORTS World. Once logged in, the Video Highlight Reel allows you to quickly edit together a reel of highlights using clips from your favorite EA SPORTS titles. You can also add music, voice overs, sound effects, and transitions within the tool.
One of the cooler aspects of the Video Highlight Reel is the ability to create a reel even if you don't own a certain EA SPORTS game. You can edit together some of the top rated videos for each game, special videos chosen by the EA SPORTS World team, and EA SPORTS original content.
Below are a couple of reels I edited together over the weekend. Clearly I've been in a basketball mood the last couple of days.
My Clips
NBA Live 09 Wizards Reel I created this reel using clips from an NBA Live 09 Wizards dynasty I've been playing over the last few months. I threw this one together pretty quickly since all of these clips were already saved to my EA SPORTS World profile. You can see that I used some of the same transitions we use weekly for our EA SPORTS top 10 video highlights to create my own Top 5. I bet we'll see a lot of Top 5 reels created by fans in the near future.
NCAA Basketball 09 Terps Reel With the NCAA Basketball tournament coming up, I popped in NCAA Basketball 09 yesterday and ran a game between Maryland and Georgetown with the specific purpose of grabbing some cool highlights I could use to put together another reel. Rather than just grabbing whatever I already had available, I used the in game editing tools. I think this makes for an even cooler reel because you can edit even more camera cuts into a reel before going to EA SPORTS World.
