Damon Peterson is a veteran of the sports gaming community. He loves any sport in the virtual world and also the real thing. He has been active in the online community for many years and currently works on TheSportsGameGuy bringing up to date sports gaming news and thoughts to the community. Kevin Harley is one of the most active members of the EA SPORTS Community. Kevin runs The Sports Game Guy with Damon Peterson. Kevin also serves as a Moderator on the EA SPORTS forums and can be found under his forum name Kev5890. The Battle of the Sports Game Guy is a weekly matchup between The Sports Game Guy site admins Damon Peterson and Kevin Harley. Each week an EA Sports game will be played between the two eventually crowning a champ of the best overall Sports Gamer. After the matchup a full game HD video plus their thoughts will be posted. The games played can be strongly influenced by feedback from the community.

Damon's Take:

This week was a Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 matchup 18 hole match play at Pebble Beach . I have always felt I was decent at Tiger but Kevin and I have only played one or two times and it's been quite a long time plus the Wii version had taken up some of my Tiger time this year and this matchup was on the Xbox 360. To make it even we decided to both use Tiger as our golfer. Kevin is the Tiger with the white shirt and I wore the Sunday red.

With a busy week I had no practice time so I was going in cold and it showed as I went for a fade on hole one at Pebble and sliced into the woods. My first thought was that it was going to be a long day as Kevin put a drive right in the middle of the fairway but I was able to make a putt from the fringe to save par and things got better from that point forward. Things stayed at even through the first few holes and then I started to get hot especially with my putting. I was able to push all the way up to 6 and then Kevin won the next hole trying to make a comeback but I closed it out with a great drive and short birdie putt on hole 14.

This win puts me up 4-0 in the series but there are upcoming games I am not certain about at all including both basketball titles and fight night. I have a big lead but I can't relax and give up a few losses in a row.

Kevin's Take:

This week was a Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 matchup 18 hole match play at Pebble Beach. I was even with Damon for the first two holes and then it slowly got out of hand.

I felt like I had a bunch of shots just miss on the green, which eventually ruined my score. Damon was on target the whole game as you can see in the video.

Unfortunately I dropped to 0-4 but hopefully I can win a couple of games in the near future. I think a basketball game should be next! Would you guys rather see Damon and I face off in NCAA Basketball 10 or NBA LIVE 10?

The Games Village has defended their crown for the 5^th straight time to be officially called the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2010 King of the Hill Champions! They won the very first week of the Club challenge and then outlasted the Caddysharks, FTWG, K2 Spotted (twice), and now the BDGA League in King of the Hill matches.

The Games Village defeated BDGA by an average score of -23.28 to -21, only a 2.2 stroke difference. Final results posted below. Congratulations to the Games Village for becoming the overall Club vs. Club Champions.

We have a new Weekly Winner, BDGA League! This was the closest matchup yet, BDGA just edged out K2 Spotted by .04 of a stroke! Ace_of_Clubs21 lead the BDGA League with an incredible score of -29. The entire team submitted great rounds, with the lowest being a -20. Thank you everyone for participating in this week's Club Challenge, we had a lot of teams submit over 20 scores. The Charndi team submitted the most player scores with 46!

Hey everyone!  We're here again to launch a new topic for discussion based in the EA SPORTS forums. The Community Appreciation Challenge events have been going on for the better part of a month now and The Games Village has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with under the current format.  Hats off to them...they have been great competitors that have helped make this competition fun and engaging.  A big thanks goes out to everyone who has played and competed in these tournaments so far.  We appreciate your willingness to participate in something new.   So now it's time to shake things up a little bit and try something different.  That's where you all come in...

So far we've had recruitment, team creation, kings of the hill, and video wars all become a part of the current community tournament format.  Now we're looking for your ideas on what would be a cool new format for these tournaments.  We're ready to take any and all ideas.  These are community tournaments after all, so who best to steer the direction of these than you guys. 

Feel free to compile your ideas and drop them here in this forum.  Next week we're going to set up a Live Chat between the Tiger Development Team and you all to discuss all the submitted ideas.  We'll be using these ideas to create the next Community Appreciation Challenge!

 Club Challenge

Create a club or join an existing one to participate in Week 5 of the Club Challenge. When you have a club, your team will get its very own VIP tournament. Only your team will be allowed to submit scores within your tournament. At the end of the week, we look at everyone’s scores and calculate a club average. The club with the best average score wins and gets to play in another special VIP tournament against the Dev Team or the current King of the Hill Champions from the previous week. Next rounds start October 27, 2009 at 5pm. Your club needs at least 20 players to submit a score or your team will incur a penalty for each missing player. If you’re looking for a team, search for one of the current teams listed above on facebook.
