You guys have done an outstanding job with Madden 10 just from the changes I see from the demo but my concern is with the player ratings overall. I'm a Pitt STEELERS fan and I don't understand why Ike Taylor's numbers haven't improved. He runs a 4.25 40 dash time(unofficially a 4.18)but he's a 88 on the game. Madden 09 he was a 94 speed attribute. This leaves me scratching my head since he has improved since the arrival of Mike Tomlin. Since Pitt had the toughess schedule last year, Ike has gone up against some tough competition at wide receiver and has shut them down. How can his stats go down when he had the best season of his career last year. Another area of concern is Lawrence Timmons. This guy is a monster when it comes to acceleration and speed for a linebacker. If it wasn't for him getting exteme pressure on Kurt Warner at the goaline in the superbowl, Warner might not have thrown that INT to James Harrison. His speed attribute on the game doesn't reflect his true ability. His speed rating is a 74 and he's the third fastest behind Harrison and Woodley and we know he's faster than both of his counterparts. Oh yeah one more thing. If Pitt's pass defense is only but 2 blocks on the demo, then no other teams' pass defense should surpass that attribute because Pitt's pass defense was number 1 in the league. If their rush defense was number 1 and had 3 blocks to represent that stat,then why doesn't the pass defense have that same attribute on the game. If it wasn't for the smart play, hard hitting and lock down abilities of their cornerbacks, then the linebackers would not have been able to do what they've done all year and that's BLITZING!

PLEAAASSSSEEEEEEE improve Pat WHite. AT least in throw accuracy. 72 TAC,73 TACS,69 TACM, and 63 TACD is ridiculous. The guy can play. Mike Mayock Raved about him during the draft and the combine. I was thinking of using him as my franchise QB in franchise mode because thats what he has the ability to become. Give him the respect he deserves. He can throw just as well as Matt Stafford and Mark Sanchez. His ratings should be closer to TAC-88, TACS-86, TACM-84, and TACD-79. Somewhere 2-3 points within those numbers. He's good and i tthink he'll prove it this year.

Pery Harvin ran a 4.41 in the 40 rayd dash and has a 97 speed just right

Chris Clemens ran a 4.41 in the 40 yard dash and has a 92 speed should be 97

Jeremy Maclin ran a 4.48 in the 40 yard dash and has a 96 speed should be 95

Vontae Davis ran a 4.49 in the 40 yard dash and has a 92 speed should be 95

Sean Smith ran a 4.51 in the 40 yard dash and has a 87 speed should be 94

Pat White ran a 4.55 in the 40 yard dash and has a 87 speed should be 92

Let get it right here guys your job is to research this stuff not use BIAS for your favortie teams. The Miami Dolphins get no love when it comes to Madden football.

Pat White by far should have better ratings than what he received. His combine workouts were the same if not better than any other quarterback at the combine and his accuracy and throw power are a joke with these ratings. During his college career he had less big time receivers to throw to yet he still posted similar if not better stats than the other big name quarterbacks, but you are letting his athleticism overshadow his true skills, at quarterback and that is ridiculous. Even if he will be used in the wildcat he will still throw the ball and believe you me, he will do good, and he will probably replace Chad Henne as the no. 2 quarterback because of the roster space and the fact that he will be used in the wildcat. With this it is evident that if Chad Pennington gets hurt the Dolphins will be fine.

49ersdynasty look at what TATMANFISH said right before me. How good a wr is doesn't make him faster, finally someone else gets it. So, by your logic randy moss is so fast because he catches a lot of TD passes. No! that just sounds stupid, he catches a lot of TD passes because he is a talented wide out with great hands speed, and runs good routes. They also stretched out the ratings (especially speed) this year so some areas become more of a factor. For those of you comparing each individual person based on 40 times at the combine is straight stupid. Some players are hurt at the combine but have the 4.3 speed. Also, in games your not running in shorts inside a dome every time. Your gonna be running on shitty field conditions occasionally, and your not gonna have a straight line to run in, there is gonna be a db who is just as fast battling you the entire way. Can some people get some common sense before posting on here.

roy miller should be in the top 5 stregnth. he benced 36 reps at the combine. he also holds several power lifting record at texas.

to all the people complaining about speed, get over it. if you need speed players, you arent that good. crabtree isnt that fast. neither was jerry rice. fitzgerald ran a 4.67 40 at his combine. just because a wr is good does not mean hes lightning fast. also 40 time and football speed are not the same. just because a guy runs 4.3 in shorts doesnt mean he run it in pads. some guy also play faster on the field, than they do running a track style event.

freeman should have higher throwing power than stafford. he has the biggest arm in this class. his deep ball accuracy should be a hair higher as well.

I hope you guys quit showing bias on ratings and online depth charts to the usual supsects. Eagles, Cowboys, Patriots. Why dont you pay attention to every team in the league and actually look up players stats throughout the year and adjust accordingly. If a player is on IR leave them on IR for online play.

Oh and if you want to make Madden 10 the most realistic sim of all the Maddens how about adding a fair play option or heavily penalizing players who want to use no-huddle the whole game.

How could Javon Ringer be so slow. He ran the 40 .03 second slower than your Speed Racing WR Jeremy Maclin. What theres a diferent system for RBs. This whole speed deal is a bunch of crap. Jeremy Maclin 96 SP Jevon Ringer 85 SP and an 84 in acceleration. HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW. Someone Sucks at rating these things. Were is E.J. Biggers on this list... He ran a 4.35 at his pro day... and how are QBs that were not drafted rated higher than QBs drafted in the first round? Please tell me this ratings were done before the draft, before the combines, or any other meaningful measurement tools were available. Cause these are bad... Laughable... EA go back and take a look at how you rated high and ask yourself...Why? Why did we rate Graham Harrell's short throw a 90... better than Stafford(87), Sanchez(88), and Freeman(79) and Harrell didn't get drafted...

What all can we do with players like English and Maybin?

I'm not sure if this is in the game, but watching the draft really got me to thinking about player position changes. I will use Larry English who is now with San Diego as an example. He is listed as a Defensive End but he is going to be converting to a 3-4 Outside Linebacker. Will I be able to put him in this position on the game? I think it would be great to have the ability to change his postion to OLB and then have him develop in that slot, or at least be able to place him there on the depth chart. It would be nice to put players where you want them to play.

This would be huge in Franchise Mode (during the draft especially). Say I see a player I think would make a good conversion from DE to OLB in the 3-4 and I draft that player. I should be able to change that players position to OLB and then have him develop in that slot. If I made a good choice the player gets better as the years go by and end up with a Terrell Suggs type guy, but if I make a wrong choice he ends up a sub-par player at best. Same goes for a player I might project as a safety instead of a corner and vice versa.

If we can feel the pressure through the controller on QB pressure I'm sure we can put this into the framework. This is a very real part of football that would add even more realism to Madden.

PLEASE FIX THE 88 SPEED RATING MADDEN HAS GIVEN TO CRABTREE. HE CAUGHT OVER 200 PASSES, 40 PLUS TDS , AND ONLY DID IT IN 2 YEARS OF COLLEGE. dARRIUS HAWARD BAY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING CLOSE TO WHAT CRABTREE DID IN COLLEGE. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THIS, SINCE I BUY MADDEN EVERYWHERE, THANKS.

Im a huge 49ers fan and to see that crabtree's speed is only 88 is straight horrible. i mean how does someone who has over 200 catches and 40 plus touchdowns in only 2 years of college, have an 88 speed rating. it's just downright awful and im not buying madden. I was thrilled to have him as a 49er, but in madden im not. He has horrible speed and this needs to be corrected asap aka as soon as possible. EA SPORTS DEVELOPERS , PLEASE FIX THIS. IT'S LIKE A GLITCH, AND WE ALL HATE GLITCHES!

On the topic of ratings i'm hoping you have made the adjustments to players who have been very over rated. Um LT and Bush? they both suck. LT was just hidding behind the best oline in the league tll he got hurt, and can someone tell me what bush has done in his career so far..... bust bust bust bust haha always hated him so overated every usc player is. can't believe NFL teams are still wasting picks on these guys

Pretty solid ratings for the most part, but I have a couple issues:

What happened to Hakeem Nicks? ESPN raved about his hands, why's his catching not a lil higher?

Also, they said that Kenny Britt was probably the best route runner in the draft aside from Crabtree. Might want to put that into consideration.

I'm a little embarrassed I care about Madden enough to make an account and post this, but for me the game REALLY suffers from its inability to accommodate different schemes, specifically the 3-4. I haven't bought a video game that wasn't used in years, but I may have to the day player rankings somehow take the scheme into account--if I couldn't start all 220 pounds if Ernie Sims in my 3-4 at OLB and have him be a 90 overall, or plug in Glenn Dorsey at 3-4 NT and have him make the Pro Bowl. In Madden 08 this was doubly irritating in franchise Position Battles and in CPU roster moves with regards to the DT and MLB positions, but I haven't played '09 enough to know if it was corrected there.

Even without a huge change in the rating systems, this problem could be in large part addressed by adopting a simple feature that already exists as far back as NCAA '08 or earlier--the ability to change player's positions at the end of the season. If I trade Fili Moala to the Ravens in Madden 10, I want him to officially be a 3-4 defensive end (an opportunity the Colts robbed him of), not a DT I move out of position on my depth chart--the difference is small, I know, but many of your legions of fans must have some of my anal retentive tendencies. It just seems like it could be done with the same sort of mechanism as that which adapts NCAA players uploaded in draft classes, and being able to switch Malcolm Jenkins to safety after a year once the Saints wise up and do the same would legitimately make Madden far more enjoyable for me. In conclusion...I'm kind of a nerd.

freeman should be 97-98 throwing power. satfford should be under that. freeman had the biggest arm in the draft. also, freeman throws one of the best(if not the best) deep balls. his deep and middle accuracy sould be a little higher. 86 deep, 82 mid, short is pretty spot on. wallace should be higher on the spped list.

The one thing I DO like about this list is that that not just ranking guys attributes based on where they were drafted. It seemed like in the past that players were simple rated based on draft order. So who ever the first OT was that was drafted had the best stats in almost all areas.

For example the first OT taken may have been an excellent pass blocker but only above average on run blocking and the next OT taken was a mauler on run blocks, but the OT drafted first would have higher stats even in the run blocking simply because he was drafted first. So i'm glad stats are A LITTLE MORE realistic than before.

What I really want to see it you guys take draft position totally out of the equation. If there is a college LB who was knocking guys out and giving concussions all season and he winds up going in the 7th round due to injury or off field issues then his hit power should be 99 or at least real high regardless of if he was a late round pick.

sorry guys, but heyward-bey should have a 99 speed rating, he ran, i believe a 4.22 40 at the combine. . . . harvin didn't run that fast, so he should not have the same speed rating as heyward-bey, and i don't even like the raiders. harvin definitely should have higher agility and acceleration, but speed should not be the same as heyward-bey. . . . honestly, i've always felt that ea has played obvious favorites, for example, the ratings of the dallas cowboys every year, and i think maybe a more discerning eye and analysis of the player ratings and teams is required. check those speed ratings again and compare them with the combine times and i'm sure u'll find a few more discrepancies. . . .

Thank you wolfey4, they shouldn't base the ratings off of one day at the combine, EA should look at game film of these players and potential. These guys prepare for months to do the combine they work the most on the 40 thats not game speed thats straight line speed, there is a difference. Percy Harvin, for example, was injured at the combine he has 4.3 speed, and is as fast as anyone in the draft. Pat White throwing good at the combine and in college is not the same as being a good passer in the NFL. NFL defense is much, much better than college, and a good college arm does not equal a good NFL arm.

I do not believe that Stafford can have a 97 throw power rating. He can't throw nearly as hard or as fast as Joe Flacco can, and he's a 97. Everybody on the throw power list should have their throw power dropped by three points. Stafford=94, and Freeman can be a 91 (although I think Freeman has the better arm by far, so he should be a 94 and Stafford a 91).

BRIAN ROBISKIE not even on the top 5 for route running and catch in traffic!?!? I hate ohio state but there is a reason they call this guy the most polished recieever in the draft common now

and for FINESSE MOVES 3 of 5 players are DT's... Even a bad DE should have better finness moves then a good DT... not to mention some of the hybrid OLB's.... there is no way 3 of the 5 best finiess move players are dt's, especially when this was considered a VERY weak class for DT's

Mike Wallace should be #1 or #2 for speed he ran the second fastest time. 4.33. He also displays his speed on the field.

He may not be the greatest at his position but he is the second fastest in the draft.

Please, you must re-rank these players: Tyson Jackson (3rd Ovr Pick, 77 OVR? 80+ great 3-4 DE), Raji (80? What?? Probably one of the best NT since Ngata's Pick), Heyward-Bey (97SPD? 98+ plz Sprinter), Brian Cushing (78? great OLB, USC 81), Pettigrew (70SPD? hahah), Clay Matthews (75 OVR? good pass rush and coverage, 79+), Evander Hood (74 OVR? 77), Everette Brown (80 OVR? It's a second rounder and one trick-pony. 77). Brian Robiskie run routes: 82 or more.

And Pat White, plz. It's much better.

please make percy harvin a complete receiver because he is. hes not just a sprinter and a running talent he is also a very smart and instinctive reciever with solid hands and good upper body strength and if you dont believe me just have a batlle with him in the weight room.

i believe that the top 5 draft prospect should be at least over the 85 overall rating. These guys are very good and although they might flop in the nfl you got to give them their rating based on college performance, and then at the update change to the appropriate rating. Aaron Curry the best overall talent in this draft should be rated at 88 and michael crabtree the best overall impact player should be at 87.

Then have personality rating such as

driven rating

loyal rating

realistic rating

consisitent rating

dependable rating

problem solver rating

patient rating

structured rating

competitive rating

efficient rating

And ratings like that should be only on franchise so that way we know who we want on are team for franchise, and that'll help us know what player fits what were looking for in a player or the type on scheme we run, because we might run hard plays to learn so we might want players with a high rating of learning plays or if we run plays that are easy to run then the players learning rating really want matter

Ramses Barden's jump rating should be reconsidered, everyone else in that top 5, including the other 95 rated jumper had a vertical jump at the combine of 40inches or better. Barden's vertical jump was 33inches.

First of all, Tom Brady should be a 98 then adjust down not 90 and adjust up, if he comes out a has a bad game you cant say he sucks. If he has a bad season (or two) then you can look at him different, he may be the best QB to ever play. pat white ran a 4.5 so his speed should be 88 because aaron curry ran a 4.5 to and his speed is 88

Their 40 yard times at the combine are as follows:

Darrius :4.3

Maclin: 4.48

Now please tell me HOW are they both a 97 speed?

Same goes for their acceleration, why is Maclin rated higher then Darrius?

Either make Maclin a 96 speed or make Darrius a 98 speed. Not a rocket science!!

there are way too many inconsistencies, for example:

Aaron Maybin, Larry English, and Robert Ayers all ran slower 40s than Pettigrew and each is at least a 78 speed with Maybin having a whopping 84!

I understand wanting to respect his blocking ability without cranking his overall rating to ridiculous heights, but having multiple players much faster than Pettigrew with simultaneously slower 40 times is unfair and takes away any sense of playmaking ability that he has:

This may has been answered in the past, but will Madden 10 include a feature where player ratings will be updated during the season (similar to some of the 2K Sports games, and EA's own FIFA 09)? Obviously some rookies will bust, while others will exceed expectations.
