tournaments should be 1 try only, tiger and the pros only get 1 go.

i see we still lose 33% online points from a disconect i stoped playing 09 because of this and wont play 10 till its fixed, i just tryed to play extreme at pebbel beach 91mph winds thats stupid get real,can anyone out there tell me why my clubs will not make there shown distance always 5 to 10 yards short this happens in club tuner as well as in game, is it just my club setup or has EA got a softwear problem. the new putter is not good at all runs as smooth as sandpaper on rubber very hard to use,

wots with the green speeds being set to very fast in all the high rank games, try mixing them up a bit, TW10 needs a lot of work i for one not very happy with it the best part of the game is the off switch,

Im excited about the enhancements coming for the on line tournaments, specifically the handicapping. Pretty hard for a non hard-core gamer like me to go into a tournament that requires all birdies and 5-6 Eagles to compete to win. Even better, how about a scratch handicapp option. If one wants to play with the big boys and girls straight up, they can.

Unlimited tries are also a big turn off for me and i personally will refust to play them until they are 1 try only...

I agree with the guys above that golf in real life is a one stop shop , you play you score . The thought of allowing people to submit multiple scores through monies is rediculous. I could never imagine my club allowing me to pay a few quid and playing again to improve my position. I also agree that on TP level one score only would be enough and all players get the same conditions. I for one unlike some TW09 users do not sit at home all day playing tourny,s as i have to work. Apart from that the TW games are great keep it up EA.

Funny, I had a Play the Pros idea this morning watching the TPC. I love the idea. This could be fun depending on what I will discuss below.

My concern is with the unlimited submissions. Once a user starts an online tournament they should either have to post or withdraw, plain and simple. If they can't finish the round, they have to withdraw. System crashes, withdraw. Don't like their tee shot and want to start the game over--withdraw. Just as in real life, you either turn in a scorecard or you don't. Unlimited submissions even on the daily tournaments are a turn turn off for me. The beauty of golf is that there are no do overs. I thought that "If it's in the game, it's in the game"?

I forgot mention the following.

To cut down on all the bs drama on the ps3 version of TW game each year, you need to make it where each person can ONLY have ONE NAME per ps3. I know that this has to be possible when gamers are logging onto EA server.

The other thing is changing the ranking system. Most of the hardcore gamers have two choices to get a game on TW 09. One is wait for 30 minutes in the lobby until someone has time to get another fake name with little points to play you. The other is create a new name to start over again. Instead of giving money on the daily tournament, give points for your ranking. This would cut down on bs drama in my opinion but of course you must have the daily tournament set up where you can only play once. Also, everyone when need to get the same wind on each hole. All of things I have mentioned would have to be fixed in order with this to work.

I posted this in the forum when I couldn't login using IE. Now that I'm connected via Firefox, here are my thoughts on today's news.

First of all, I'm delighted to see the way you have given an infusion of "liveness" to the Daily and "Play-the-Pros". I was hoping for mid-round leaderboards, but you guys have gone one better by also including mid-round updates (at least of players on your friends list) reporting significant events (like "Oblong just put his second shot in the drink on #18", as if that would ever happen ;-))that are happening in real time as you're playing your round. I've always felt the Dailies fell short of cashing in on their potential in the live department and you guys have more than stepped up to the plate here.

This approach creates the opportunity for groups to organize a simulatneous start during the Daily, and not only getting score updates on their friends, but dispostional status of significant events relating to them as they concurrently play their rounds.

Before I forget about it, I'm also tickled to see not only multi-difficulty level options available, but multi-skill levels available for the Dailies. It will be so nice to have a Tour Mode Daily at my disposal every day!

Secondly, after reading your blog and Brian Ekberg's preview, then watching your interview with Brian, I realize that I misinterpreted how the "Play-the-Pros" option works. I thought it would be all gamers against the real life pros on one leaderboard, with the gamer scores being potentially 30 to 40% lower than the pros. I now realize that it's only you against the real pros, so the leaderboard won't look as whacked as it could have otherwise.

I also like the fact that you've also limited it to Tour Pro, and furthermore, have tweaked it "under the cover" to make it even more realistic though skill capping, and who knows what other means? :) This will be a special treat with the real tour intersects with one of the licensed courses. I know I'll be playing my Play-the-Pros rounds while the real thing is going on to enhance the live feel, although I'll want to be finished by the time the leaders finish their rounds so I can give full attention to the real action.... I'm an avid PGA tour Zealot!

I do have a couple of concerns that I'll float. First, while I like the idea of a weekly 72 hole tournament, I'm thinking that playing 4 tournament rounds totally in the dark will feel so isolated that I won't be able to relate to it as a "live" event. One of the things I look for in tournament play is the ebb and flow of the event as it unfolds. The Weekly sounds as though it will be even more mysterious than the Dailies of years past have been. At least you could see the scores before and after your round in the Dailies. I'll give the Weekly a try before I dismiss it completely.

Finally, with the option to play a round and opt whether to submit it or not at conclusion, the mid-round Daily leaderboards could be rather misleading. For example, I could see that "Joytech_Jockey" was 8 under after 17 holes as I'm playing 18. I would assume that he could finish between 7 to 9 under after 18, having seen that when i finish my round. However, Joytech_Jockey could see that "Mad_Catz_Max" shot 9 under after finishing his round and opt to not submit that round and restart, posting an entirely different score.

I'm not going to get overly rectally rententive about this because I know the people on my friends list will play the game with a sportsmanlike approach. Maybe there are some things you can do to tweak the settings to make this less of an issue with your server side approach. I'm really glad you guys saw fit to design this capability into this year's online service!
